The restaurant's location is superb, with a magnificent ocean view. Unfortunately, the food is very inconsistent; some dishes are excellent, while others are much, much less so. The gratinated mussels are excellent, but the baby squid are really large and not at all appetizing. They're the worst baby squid I've ever eaten on the Basque coast. Overall, it's a very nice restaurant, the service is friendly but average, the view is superb, but the dishes are truly uneven.

Eating dishes you love but don't know how to make. Ostalamer delights me every time. The decor sets the mood. You're right on the ocean. The razor clams were always amazing, and the octopus was simply divine! A variety of textures and flavors. The combination of mashed potatoes and octopus, enhanced with chorizo ​​and a few melted vegetables, is visually appealing and a treat for the taste buds. Perfectly cooked; crispy on the outside, meltingly tender on the inside. Absolutely delicious. A must-try! 🤩

The food is really good; in terms of value for money, it's hard to beat, especially for fish that's often locally sourced. The decor is very nice, and the terrace has a breathtaking view. However, the major drawback is the service. The initial welcome is brief, and then the wait is very long. It's difficult to identify which server is serving our table. We had to wait a long time for the menus, and there's no drinks menu other than bottled wines, which is a shame because it's impossible to know the prices. Once we ordered, the main courses arrived quickly, but then we waited over 20 minutes for a promised dessert menu that never arrived. It's a pity because we would have liked the service to match the quality of the food, but there's still work to be done.

A truly wonderful experience! 🌊🔥 The meal was excellent, with refined and flavorful cuisine. We particularly enjoyed dining by the fireplace, a warm and convivial atmosphere that made the experience even more enjoyable. However, for an establishment offering this type of gastronomy, with relatively expensive dishes, it would be truly appreciated to expand the selection of non-alcoholic beverages. There are now some excellent sparkling wines, wines, and beers available that would complement the dishes with just as much elegance as alcoholic drinks, in addition to the sodas and fruit juices on offer. Furthermore, the service was a little too rushed for the appetizers: these (which were hot) arrived before we had even finished our aperitifs and the delicious fish spreads that accompanied them. Finally, a big thank you for the warm welcome extended to our four-legged companions! 🐾 It's a truly thoughtful touch that deserves to be highlighted. Overall, a very good place, with a little room for improvement on these few points.

We stopped at Ostalamer after our visit to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, as we were already on our way to another destination. The place has an incredible view of the sea and the waves, a lovely terrace, and the food is very good. I ordered grilled octopus with mashed potatoes, and it was delicious. The service was a bit slow, even though they weren't very busy.

A good restaurant with spectacular views. The food was good but not excellent. I would return for the views, but perhaps try something different.

We've been eating here for 10 years. Still as good as ever. Everything on the menu looks tempting, and we always enjoy it just as much. Well done!
