Una cosa divertida que hacer en Amboise es visitar Bigot’s y a mano - elegir algunos chocolates u otros dulces. Bigot’s es una pastelería y dulcería tradicional francesa que funciona aquí desde 1913. Es fácil de encontrar en el centro de Amboise y se encuentra frente a la rampa del castillo, Chateau Royal. Los escaparates de coloridos frutos de mazapán nos llamaron la atención. Hay melocotones diminutos, perfectamente formados, fresas, plátanos y otras frutas. Por dentro las gruesas rodajas de quiche y las bandejas de macarrones se veían deliciosas. Sin embargo Bigot’s es más bien - conocido por su mano - hecho chocolate y esto es lo que buscamos al final. Fue difícil elegir - pistacho y mazapán? praliné de avellanas? ¿Naranjas? No pudimos resistirnos así que elegimos una selección y por capricho, añadimos dos ositos de peluche de malvavisco cubiertos de chocolate. Tienen varias mesas y sillas afuera y un salón de té adentro, pero ya habíamos tomado cafés en otro lugar, así que nos llevamos nuestras golosinas. Nota: Vale la pena señalar que usted paga por peso.

Very nice pastry shop with a well-placed terrace to please tourists. The products are excellent, the service a little imperfect or even disorderly. Many wasps gravitate around tables on the terrace. However, we have a very pleasant time there when we show a little indulgence.

An institution in our territory that is worth the detour! Would you like a hot chocolate? The answer is always yes and yes again! Don't hesitate and book your gourmet break.

I was told the macaroons were gluten free, which I really appreciated as a coeliac. However, I'm actually not sure about cross contamination (that part slipped my mind), so I'd double check in the future. I was fine after eating it though...and it was delicious!

We went there at 4:30 p.m. and were invited to sit on the terrace. Very warm welcome despite the understaffing. Fast and efficient service, no waiting. I highly recommend for a little snack =)

Beautiful location of this bakery, the pastries are very good, the staff pleasant, nothing to complain about, very good for a breakfast or snack between 2 visits!

Having been a customer of the house for almost 20 years, this is the first time I have been disappointed. After sitting at the table alone because we were rebuffed by a waitress who told us to manage ourselves, there followed the comings and goings of the various servers, no glance to show concern from the customers. After 15 minutes, we get up to get a map because no one cares. It's all going on behind the counter, what a mess... This famous house, where you usually feel welcome, the lower room and its cocoon atmosphere... There we are in total indifference. After almost 30 minutes, a waiter arrives out of breath and apologizing. We quickly got our order but what a lack of organization and this is the first time I have noticed it unfortunately. We will come back because we like the cuisine and the atmosphere as well as the owner and I hope that we will be better received.
