Quai 38 sur Lille

Given the rave reviews, we were hoping for a fantastic meal. We left disappointed. The value for money was simply not there. The knives were certainly good, but served lukewarm with a side dish that clashed (parsley sauce versus raspberry vinegar???) and, most importantly, the octopus was rubbery, especially considering the €37 price tag – it was simply unacceptable! In the end, €180 for two people; we won't be spending that much again.

An exceptional experience in Lille. Eating lobster couscous in Lille? Yes, it's possible… and what a couscous! The ingredients are remarkably fresh, perfectly prepared, and cooked with great skill. Everything is delicious, from the prawn tempura to the wine pairings, featuring exceptional wines that complement the meal wonderfully. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming. Each table has ample space, providing a true sense of intimacy. The decor is refined, the atmosphere is hushed, quiet, and particularly cozy. A big thumbs up to the service as well. The waitresses are smiling, attentive, and take the time to explain the dishes without ever being pushy. A special mention goes to the chef who comes to greet his guests—a simple gesture that adds a truly human touch to the experience. I also loved the presentation of the desserts, brought in under a huge transparent dome to showcase them to the customers: an idea as original as it was elegant. The price is perfectly in line with the quality of the ingredients, the artistry on the plate, and the overall experience. An address I recommend without hesitation. ++++ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Super friendly welcome, tastefully decorated seafood restaurant that is worth the walk from Lille central. From greetings to the au revoir, the staff were all amazing, attentive and made us feel really welcome. The food was absolutely fantastic - razor clams, tempura prawns, lobster and John Dory were all expertly cooked and presented well and tasted really, really great. It was my first trip to Lille and Quai38 is the perfect excuse to return!

A wonderful experience, both with the food and the staff. The setting is warm and the staff are attentive, friendly, and always smiling… it's a real pleasure to share a meal at one of the tables at Quai 38. As for the food, it's a blend of flavors, a taste explosion that transports you a thousand miles away from Lille. Thank you to Quai 38 for this exceptional quality of service and cuisine.
