We had a meal on the slopes and asked to eat inside, but be careful of the draft in front of the bar. The meals are served in generous portions, but be careful what you choose. The polenta was really dry and strong (served with cheese). The crust was made with dry bread. The waiter was very friendly, and the overall atmosphere was good, it's a shame it was cold 🥶

A great break during a day of skiing. Meals are served until 2:30 pm, and afterwards you can enjoy a delicious buckwheat galette or a sweet crêpe. Excellent value for money!

Nice little refuge next to the Brochaux waterfalls. The cows come right up to the restaurant. Friendly waitress. Mont Blanc Génépi beer for €8. I had a €7 sausage as a snack for the aperitif and I had trouble finishing it, the photo speaks for itself.

We had a great time at the Abricotine refuge. The view from the terrace is extraordinary with the Abondance cows as a distraction, the Abricotine gratin is excellent (if I could have licked the dish, I would have), and the music on the 90s nostalgia radio is perfect.

03/11/2025: Two friends and myself visited the area for a long weekend mountain biking in the summer. After swimming in the lake we had lunch at the restaurant and can’t speak highly enough for them. Food was great as was the service. But there was something so nice about the atmosphere. A real mix of nationalities, friends and just families having a nice time. The manager / owner seemed to have it so well organised. Well done and we will be back. Thank you Steve and friends from Wales 👏👏

Le Refuge des Brochaux

21/01/2026: Lucas gave us a fantastic welcome! The food was excellent!
15/09/2025: It can be nice if you're not very hungry and have a fat wallet. The portions are tiny, the prices high, and the quality varies greatly. I'm shocked by the potato fritters, which are completely ruined and sold for €2.50 each. For a potato fritter. I repeat, €2.50 per potato fritter. Indecent. As for the rest, the drinks are decent and the waitresses are pleasant, which adds to the bill. P.S.: Opposite is a photo of the refuge board, which costs €25. Three potato fritters, not grated and half-mashed inside, four slices of sausage and cold cuts (good nonetheless), a bowl of melted Reblochon cheese (you'll have to ask five times for bread to eat it), and that's it. You can't say you didn't know.
