Relais de la Schliff sur Ottrott

The restaurant environment and ambience is nice and the service is good. The prices although initially seem inflated are fully justified by the hearty portions. Anyway when you try a zip from the excellent house wine nothing else matters. The restaurant has just outside abundant parking spots and you can buy more of this wonderful wine in a bottle for an extremely fair price. The wine itself is a reason to visit this restaurant.

Wines as good as ever and personal stock replenished for the year. 😄 Very pleasant and warm welcome. Very generous and good restaurant meals. You really have to be difficult not to like it.

This is a restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside, with a decor that won't necessarily be to everyone's taste. On the other hand, the cuisine is excellent! I recommend the bites to the queen: hearty, tender meat and a creamy sauce. Very good ! The fondant is also very good 👍 Finally regarding the service, the waitress we had was great, welcoming, good advice and smiling 🙂. I will come back with pleasure if I have the opportunity to try other dishes

The beef and morel sauce is way too salty! This is the only complaint you will see in this review. What is certain with the Restaurant Relais de la Schliff is that no matter your state of health when you arrive, you will leave without hunger and with an increased cholesterol level (which was totally the goal). But look at the size of this beef and morel dish! 500 g of beef 3 kg of morels 3 liters of sauce 5 kg of potatoes and 3 kg of spatzle! We had the audacity to have a tarte flambée to share as a starter, the result being that we were no longer even hungry for the main course. Arriving at the plate, drops were running down our foreheads at the sight of this monster. We fought for 1h30 to bring him down, luckily the doggybag knight helped us. The staff is friendly, very Alsatian. The setting of the restaurant and what you would expect when seeing the exterior: friendly and efficient. Big plus for the wine, the stuffed boar that looked at us envied us for sylvaning it!

The restaurant is just ok in terms of food. We expect better. Service level lacks the pleasant side of the staff who tend to work in an automatic mode thus creating the absence of empathy that we like to find in a pleasant place. The people who appear to be from Management, on the other hand, are very pleasant, smiling and somewhat correct the negative side. The setting is pleasant. This establishment is surely a victim of its success. It's not because we refuse people that we have a reputation for quality. However, no longer giving enough importance to one's primary convictions will lead in the short or medium term to a distorted image that one could surely have avoided.

We discovered the place by chance, we were very well received. We had the delicious asparagus, the dish was super generous! We took Otrott red on site which is super practical. Special mention our dog was accepted with pleasure. Great welcome!
