Ideal location and friendly welcome, but a very mixed culinary experience. Rating: 2.5/5 We dined at the L'Adélaïde restaurant (in the Cité de Carcassonne). The setting and location are truly lovely, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. However, the quality of the food was frankly disappointing compared to the expected standard. We chose two different menus: Starters: A real plus was my wife's foie gras, which was excellent. On the other hand, a huge disappointment was my onion soup: very little flavor and extremely oily (a layer of oil more than 5 mm thick was floating on the surface). When we pointed this out, the staff told us it was simply water... but water mixes with the broth, while oil floats on top. Main Courses: We each had different fish dishes. The side dishes weren't bad, but the fish was far too dry (likely overcooked in the oven). Desserts & Drinks: My coffee ice cream sundae was also sorely lacking in flavor. The only positive point regarding drinks: the two carafes of wine (white and rosé) were quite good. In summary: good service and a great location, but the food could definitely be improved, especially the fish and the soup!

Still as welcoming and good as ever, best location in the city...

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant in the heart of Carcassonne, at the foot of the Château Comtal and its ramparts! The service was quite quick, and the menu offered a variety of choices at very reasonable prices, especially the set menus. The meal was delicious, featuring high-quality ingredients, and enjoyed in a pleasant and peaceful setting on the terrace! Thank you for your hospitality; we will definitely return on our next visit to Carcassonne! 😊

They have a menu that includes cassoulet; one for €21 (smaller portion) and another for €32 near the castle are both highly recommended for quantity, price, and quality.

The staff is great. Helpful, smiling, and attentive. We had the €21 set menu. Excellent. BUT there was a major problem with the wine... according to the winemaker, it should be served at 15/16°C. The bottle was warm when it was served to us. We complained, and they brought us a bucket of ice. Yes... the wine was chilled... but... you show no respect for the winemaker, the product, or your customer. Despite our complaint on the spot... there was no apology or gesture of goodwill.

I give Adélaïde 5 stars! For its warm welcome and simply sublime cuisine. The setting and the team are just incredible, I highly recommend it!

Passing through the city, it was perfect in the evening with a view of the ramparts. The menu was affordable and plentiful. I loved their cassoulet! We'll be back.
