Restaurant at Hotel de France sur Chinon

A huge thank you to the Romains for their welcome and kindness throughout the weekend. We were celebrating our wedding in Chinon, and many of our friends were staying at the hotel. All our guests were delighted with their stay, the rooms, the terrace, and the on-site hospitality. You contributed to the success of our wedding. A huge thank you!

We really liked this hotel. We only stayed one night but would very much like to visit again. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The only downside was that our room was on the top floor and there were a lot of stairs to climb!

Fantastic small scale hotel with magnificent atmosphere, large iconic rooms and super friendly and helpful staff. Enjoys my stay and will come back for sure !!

This is the first hotel I've taken the time to review because the experience was absolutely fantastic. The Hôtel de France hosted our entire family and friends for my brother's wedding. The welcome was incredibly warm, and the entire team was attentive and ready to help. The hotel's terrace is superb for a drink or a board (which I recommend), and the rooms are very comfortable. The hotel's location, on this small, semi-pedestrianized square, is fantastic. We stayed four nights, and it was hard to leave. Thank you again.

Superb welcome, clean, and very well located. You can walk around the city, have lunch or dinner at a restaurant, go up to the fortress, or go to the open-air café. There's no elevator, but they kindly helped us carry our suitcases! The shower is very small, which isn't very practical for washing your feet, for example. 😉 And the air conditioning was stuck at 21°C, which isn't very hot since it was 35/36°C outside, so we had to turn it off at night because the cold air was blowing on our bodies. It's a shame.

We ended up in Chinon following a car problem on the motorway. The Best Western was a pleasant stopover located in the centre of Chinon, opposite a charming little square. The room is very good, the staff very friendly and welcoming, attentive, the breakfasts very complete. This stopover was a real pleasure.
