A very pleasant lunch this Monday, December 22nd. A two- or three-course menu caters to both large and small appetites. The flavors are delightful: homemade gingerbread, soft, fragrant, and not too sweet, which perfectly complements chicken livers and a fresh mixed salad with herbs and pumpkin seeds, balsamic vinegar; salmon with lemon and capers accompanied by slightly crisp vegetables, mushrooms, and creamy mashed potatoes; and a plate of local goat's or cow's milk cheeses. The tea selection is excellent. The grape juice is locally sourced. Coffee and café crème with an aniseed pastry provide a pleasant end to the meal. The ground-floor dining room is welcoming, bright, and comfortable. The service is very friendly, smiling, and attentive. Thank you for this wonderful culinary experience.

During a stay in Azay-le-Rideau, we had the pleasure of discovering this charming restaurant located just steps from the château. The cuisine is gourmet and original, prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The wine list is fantastic, featuring a large selection of organic wines. We will definitely be back.

Simple lunch before visiting the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau

We had a great time! The food was excellent and the service was really friendly. A big thank you in particular to the two smiling and attentive young students, who made the moment even more enjoyable. We will be happy to come back if we come back to Azay! 🌟
