Sarlat is filled wall-to-wall with restaurants and bars. While we didn't have a bad meal anywhere, many places likely benefit from the steady stream of tourists and might struggle to survive on repeat local business alone. This little gem, however, would thrive in any town. It features stylish decor and beautifully presented food that honours the region's culinary traditions while adding a creative, modern twist. Paired with excellent service, it’s easily one of the best spots in town. Highly recommended—definitely give it a try!

We had two wonderful evenings at Le Petit Bistrot! The waiters were incredibly attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The food was delicious, especially the truffle dishes. It's a gem we'll cherish!

We spent 3 days in Sarlat and went to this restaurant on 2 of those days. Excellent food, top-notch service from the entire team, especially Julia, our Ukrainian server. The Rossini steak was impeccable, and the escargots were delicious, prepared by the Portuguese chef. The atmosphere was wonderful, with a pianist playing music to accompany our dinner. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic! Thank you to the chefs for delighting our taste buds, and a huge thank you to Bryan for his impeccable service from start to finish. He's a very friendly and professional young man who gave us excellent advice on the dishes.
Thanks to his recommendations, I decided to try the truffle tiramisu (a unique dish!), which was a wonderful discovery.

A wonderful discovery. The truffle menu is simply superb. Top-notch service with discreet staff. The only slight drawback is that they don't accept restaurant cards.

We had the impression that many restaurants in the old town were tourist traps. But at Petit Bistrot, we had a different feeling, and we were right. The waiter (owner?) was very friendly and cool. I had the set menu with the truffled eggs, scallops, and crème brûlée – it tasted fantastic and was great value for money!
