Restaurant Le Tourny sur Sarlat-La-Caneda

Beautifully presented, cooked using traditional methods... The menu mentions "homemade" in small print, but it's definitely evident in the dishes... A feast for the eyes and the stomach... We left satisfied, but not overly so...

A very French place… food is amazing and flavorful and you will be here for 3 hours lol. Lots of delicious truffle dishes. A special shoutout for the service. I had a sick family member back at the hotel and asked for a takeout meal which I said I know you don’t do here but is there any way… our waiter so graciously went way out of his way, because the kitchen was closed, to find another restaurant to do a to go meal and he had it delivered. Then he said “oh that is not enough let me give you a muffin for desert”. It was very touching and one of those cross cultural moments that you will always remember.

Excellent from start to finish, including the cheese course. Impeccable service was an added bonus.

Very disappointed. The welcome was good nonetheless. Truffle menu €39, I thought I was in for a treat... 1/ Creamy burrata with truffle: Good creamy burrata with truffle-infused basil oil, accompanied by a very vinegary tomato relish (barely red) that completely overpowered the subtle, light taste of the truffle. 2/ Beef Rossini with truffle mashed potatoes: Excellent beef steak, tender and perfectly cooked. Truffle mashed potatoes, good but very small, 10 cm in diameter and 1 cm thick (my husband ate nothing but that and left the table still hungry). 3/ Truffle tiramisu: I was hoping to discover something new... I found small pieces of truffle, but the taste of chocolate, mascarpone, and sugar was overwhelming. Apparently, I'm the first person to say that it's the same with or without truffle. Plus, the tiramisu was served in a simple glass 😒.

Easily the best meal we had in Sarlat over 5 days. Great service and a pleasure .

A very pleasant spot on the terrace with misters and fans, perfect for the heatwave. The tournedos Rossini was simply extraordinary, with a truly exquisite piece of foie gras cooked to perfection. The servers were incredibly kind and welcoming. Thank you.

A superb welcome, a discovery of regional dishes, what a delight... We were passing through during the Fête de la Musique and had a wonderful time and ate incredibly well.

A truly wonderful place in Sarlat; the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the decor was very tasteful. You can go there without hesitation and won't be disappointed.
