We had lunch there in July 2026. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Excellent value for money at €35, including half a liter of rosé wine. The service was efficient and quick. We'll be back... A quick hello to my skirt-and-shorts twin! 😁

Great home cooked French food. Don't be put off by the unassuming exterior: this is an excellent place to eat.

Even though the place doesn't look like much, we were very well received and we ate very well. Good atmosphere.

We had a slight reservation when we first walked in because the decor was just okay, but that quickly changed. The menu was small but offered good quality products and generous portions at a very reasonable price.

L'Avalanche

02/04/2026: Great place! The atmosphere was amazing. I believe Mark is the owner. He and his staff were really wonderful. They were on top of everything. Very friendly people. You felt very at home. Everyone talked to everyone. There were a lot of regulars there. A mix of English and French. The music was great. Chris Kern played that night and the whole place was hopping. Everyone was singing and dancing and having a great time. Beware of the steep steps to the bathroom. They are ancient and original to the building and really cool!
