21/05/2026: Restaurant meal:
What a disappointment! As long-time customers, the change of chef is going to be difficult. Lunching with friends, we didn't find the same quality, creativity, or generous portions. We also missed the chef's presence, his willingness to interact with customers and share those enjoyable moments of conviviality. It's good that there's a new owner, and it's difficult to take over from a chef with such high-quality professional experience. They should at least try to draw inspiration from what made Château du Bost so renowned. We'll wait for future reviews before deciding whether to return. Best of luck nonetheless.

27/07/2026: Very noisy, dirty ceiling, it looked like there had been a fire. The dessert menu was terrible and the main courses were okay, nothing special. We enjoyed it last year, but this year we decided not to go back.

01/08/2026: We arrived at 7:30 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Without a reservation, we asked for a table for five with two strollers. We were greeted without a smile; the person who served us sighed in our faces when we asked for a table for five. The service was incredibly cold. Without a reservation, you will receive a less than warm welcome. We were seated as best we could in a corner at a small table; there was no space for strollers, even though the restaurant was half empty. The service was similar to cafeteria service; the staff were unfriendly. We decided to leave at 10 PM without eating our desserts, which were included in the set menu. It took three hours to eat a single course. We waited an hour after eating, and the table hadn't even been cleared. Furthermore, the staff smokes cigarettes inside the establishment, in the kitchen, and at the reception desk while taking payments, right in front of the customers.
As a result, I strongly advise against it; you're better off eating at McDonald's—the atmosphere and staff are much better. The only positive point is that if you have the patience to wait 2-3 hours, you'll get some decent food.

29/07/2026: Nice restaurant in a pleasant setting. It's a shame we couldn't enjoy the terrace by the water... reservations were required... I tried to make one, but there was no one to answer the phone.
26/07/2026: The service was appalling; we had to wait forever to order and receive our food, which unfortunately arrived with errors. As a result, we cancelled our dessert order.

22/08/2026: A disgrace… four fries at the bottom of the box, and when I pointed it out, they offered me cheddar cheese instead! They have absolutely no desire to meet legitimate customer expectations, especially considering the price of a meal. Avoid these McDonald's crooks who are lining their pockets, and the employees justify it by saying, "That's what we're told to put in…" We didn't want to drive back, and I deeply regret it.
17/08/2026: One star because I can't give less. It's 9:51 PM and I've been waiting for my order for 30 minutes. They're turning customers away even though they're supposed to be serving until 10:45 PM.
The staff seems more interested in having a laugh and entertaining the room than taking orders. Three people trying to close a salad box—quite a show to watch, it helps pass the time.
And after the laughter, the employees and manager start arguing live because he realizes it might be time to serve the waiting customers. The sugar-free Coke tastes like dishwasher detergent, but by 10:10 PM there's no one behind the counter to talk to. Apparently, three-quarters of the staff have turned off the lights and left. I should point out that there were no more than 20 of us in the dining room and they had at least six people working: three serving and three in the kitchen. And the state of the dining room? Let's not even go there.

08/11/2025: I'm told the bread is good. However, I really felt like I was bothering them. The man was agitated; he took the bread out of the slicer without gloves, dropped slices on the floor, and even though I was spared the 15 cent slicing charge, this grudging, almost aggressive gesture of goodwill wasn't enough to increase my customer satisfaction.
03/07/2025: The sandwiches are very good and especially the raw chicken vegetables are to die for and so good. I really enjoyed the raw chicken vegetables and the service and the smiling staff. I recommend it to everyone.

22/06/2024: Restaurant Japonais raffiné dans un lieu chargé d'histoire pour Clermont Ferrand (l'Hôtel Dieu). La décoration est très moderne et épurée.
02/06/2024: C'est un endroit extraordinaire pour déjuener l'été. Sous l'ombre des catalpas, un repas simple , bon et pour un tarif raisonnable.
L'accueil y est sympathique et le sevice est rapide

09/08/2024: The view from the room is exceptional, amply justifying the three stars awarded to this recently renovated space. On the other hand, access to the rooms in building 2 leaves something to be desired: stairs in poor condition, no elevator, which does not meet the expected standards. In addition, the absence of electrical outlets near the bed in 2024 is surprising and impractical for charging phones.
As for the restaurant, after a disappointing first evening, we preferred to dine on our balcony the second night. Special mention all the same to the butler, very helpful and smiling.
After a day of visiting, we wanted to take advantage of the swimming pool. However, the organization is insufficient for a four-star hotel: to get a towel, you have to cross the restaurant in a swimsuit and go to reception, then repeat the journey once you have finished swimming, which is uncomfortable and impractical. A dedicated pool service would be an asset to improve the guest experience and could even generate additional revenue for the hotel.
In summary, this hotel has the potential to receive more positive reviews, but this requires rehabilitation work and service up to the four stars advertised.
