09/03/2024: Great culinary experience in this historic restaurant in Evry Courcouronnes. I haven't been back since 2003 (in the meantime the chef has changed). We were received by a warm welcome and appetizers fresh from the oven. The chef later came to meet us to present the menu. We opt for the homemade foie gras and its chutney, the sweetbreads and the blanquette of lotte vielle France. Generous portion, fresh and quality products. For dessert, the floating island was delicious. All the ingredients for a pleasant time at the table. We feel that chef Thierry is passionate. He transmits his love of cooking to us through his beautiful plates. We had a pleasant time: thank you to the restaurant Le Canal: faultless from start to finish. Very good continuation and see you soon.

11/03/2024: So where to start...the evening was so epic...let me start: The meal: a salmon tart that was more than dry and hard, a sausage aligot... someone should have told us that it was a dry sausage... very dry too dry? an apple cake that is different for members of the same table; some had an invisible apple cake and others had an apple yogurt cake. Small special mention for the coconut flan without coconut and without caramel. Positive point: the shrimp pasta is very good! Atmosphere: A karaoke evening led by a more than unusual host...vulgar and with inappropriate comments (political/sexual...) and unpleasant with customers. When we left we were asked to advertise...so we're going to abstain, it wouldn't be of any service...if to future customers. Avoid karaoke nights in any case!

The walls are empty and deserve to be livened up, with Portuguese decoration. Very few employees, but the two girls did the job well and were helpful. There was no one at the counter most of the time, nor was anyone serving on the terrace. After sitting down to dinner in the downstairs dining room, at 8:45 p.m., we started dinner around 11:00 p.m., and this is the second time this has happened, probably due to lack of kitchen staff. The kid doing the karaoke is nice, one of the employees in the downstairs room, who stayed until the end, is equally friendly, helpful and hardworking, however... one of the employees who I think, is probably the boss, as she was the one who got us the money in the box at the end, he is of the worst kind: arrogant and without the slightest sympathy. Unfortunately, and because of this person, I won't give a more positive review nor will I come back, but I danced and had fun!
