The pizza wasn't great, and the ribeye steak was the size of a steak (the restaurant was far from full for a Saturday night). As a result, we didn't order dessert. When it came time to pay, there wasn't even a minimal apology.

04/04/2026: The food wasn't good, but the service was appalling. Don't be in a hurry; we arrived at 8:00 PM and weren't served until 9:40 PM—unbelievable and unacceptable! Three other tables were served ahead of us, unbelievable. The owner claimed there was a problem in the kitchen, which I can understand, but he didn't offer any compensation, not even a simple coffee. Nothing. What a shame.
03/04/2026: We booked at 8:00 PM and were served at 9:30 PM. The owner told us there was a problem, but the issue is that six other people arrived much later and were served immediately. It's a shame.

02/04/2026: 2026 Still at the top 👏 The rooms, the restaurant, the welcome, the service! Truly professional. 2025 Fifth visit to the Château de Champlong restaurant, and still the same pleasure! An exceptional restaurant, undoubtedly one of the best in the entire region. The cuisine is inventive, creative, and exquisitely refined, with flavor combinations that are always perfectly balanced and surprising. The team is professional, attentive, and passionate, making every moment unique. The hotel itself remains an absolute benchmark in the Roanne region: comfort, elegance, and impeccable service. A must-visit, highly recommended! 2022 Exceptional New Year's lunch!!! Congratulations 👏

16/01/2026: Thank you to Chef Fabien Viricel for the outstanding quality of the dishes ordered for the holiday season. The cardoon gratin with bone marrow was a hit with everyone, even the younger guests. As for the foie gras and smoked salmon, several of our guests admitted they had never tasted anything so good 🤗 A real treat 👌.
17/12/2025: Everything here is great... the food, the welcome, the service... and the waiter is very helpful and has a fantastic sense of humor 😂 We'll be back!

12/12/2025: Avoid this restaurant! I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this time I felt compelled to share my experience because the Google reviews seem contradictory. Given the restaurant's rating, I didn't expect to be this disappointed. To put it simply, the portions were small (it seemed to be a matter of personal preference) and the price was far too high for what was served. We left the table still hungry. For €21, you get four measly porcini mushroom ravioli on a large plate... Bon appétit!

17/01/2026: I think it's hard to imagine anything worse: we waited 35 minutes before being served. The burger patty was way overcooked and dry, the homemade fries were soggy, very greasy, and dark brown. The daily special must have been meant for a four-year-old: a tiny portion and overcooked rice. My pork was completely cold, and the bread arrived after we'd finished eating! In short, it's been a long time since we've been so disappointed by a "restaurant."
14/01/2026: Very mediocre restaurant! The welcome was adequate, however, we waited over 40 minutes for our dish, which arrived cold. Everyone who arrived after us was served before us! As for the food, it was the worst I've had in a long time. The burger had shoe-like meat, and the homemade fries were burnt, soggy, and cooked in old oil. The side dish was a green salad and a slice of hard-boiled egg—what on earth was that?! The other dishes were just as bad as mine; we obviously didn't order dessert! Regarding the price, it's far too expensive for the quality and quantity served. We should have read other reviews beforehand, which would have allowed us to go somewhere else.

Plat quantité très light Service brouillon Le supplément dessert non @ est indécent sachant que certains @ coûtent le même prix que sans @. C'est mesquin 17.20€ pour plat du jour et dessert c'est cher et pas du tout commerçant. Bye bye.. Claire

06/07/2024: Établissement que nous connaissons pour y avoir déjeuner l'été 2023. Ce restaurant est bizzard ,beaucoup de personnes travaillent dans cet établissement... je vois qu'il y un problème, le personnel est au ralenti...je suis un ancien maitre-d'hotel il manque un chef de salle ! Notre choix une choucroute très chaude voilà un bon point ( c'est le seul ) un choux " insipide " aucun goût ... l'accompagnement de mauvaise qualité les pommes de terre quelques une cuitent d'autre pas ! Le serveur la conseillé de mettre beaucoup de moutarde ...il m'a dit qu'il ne mange pas la choucroute ici ! Une salade césar la très bonne et deux 🍺 artisanales très bonne , le café ☕️ est très amer manque de qualité ou machine trop chaude . Vous avez un belle établissement dommage, J'espère que vous tenir compte de notre avis et ceux déjà publié...

21/04/2024: Si vous recherchez un endroit où l'accueil est au sommet, les produits sont de qualité et l'ambiance est à la fois chaleureuse et réconfortante, ne cherchez pas plus loin. Ce lieu, avec son accueil des plus chaleureux, sa sélection de produits soigneusement choisis et son décor cocooning, est l'endroit idéal pour passer un moment agréable et savourer une expérience inoubliable. Vous vous sentirez instantanément chez vous, entouré de bienveillance et de délices, dans cet oasis de confort et de convivialité.

08/06/2024: Je souhaite attirer votre attention sur certains aspects de votre service qui, selon moi, nécessitent une réévaluation. Premièrement, il semble que le nombre de personnel soit insuffisant, ce qui affecte la qualité du service, particulièrement la gestion de la terrasse. De plus, la formation du personnel mériterait d’être approfondie, en particulier pour le jeune serveur présent le vendredi soir du 7 juin. Ce dernier a rencontré des difficultés à utiliser le système de prise de commandes, ce qui a résulté en une erreur dans notre commande et nous avons reçu des plats que nous n’avions pas choisis. Il a également omis de respecter l’ordre des clients attendant pour passer commande, malgré nos indications, et a oublié de servir certains clients après la prise de commande. Face à l’affluence, il semblait perdu et débordé. Une attention particulière à ces points pourrait grandement améliorer l’expérience des clients.
