14/11/2025: Simply sublime. A romantic evening in a warm and inviting atmosphere with the fireplace. We ordered the wild sea bass for two. A real treat. The cooking was perfect, the fish of exceptional quality. The wine, a Burgundy Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Château Charles, was sublime. Everything was perfect. The waiter was exceptionally kind and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

26/05/2026: We arrived well before closing time, but were refused service and told that everything in the village was closed… Terrible experience! However, we were able to enjoy local products like oysters and seafood with a very warm welcome.

30/04/2026: I came to La Taverne de Tasdon restaurant with my parents on April 11th, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing… the service was quite disastrous. To begin with, no table was reserved in our name, even though we had booked for three people. We were lucky that a table was available, but considering what followed, that might not have been such a good thing after all… We ordered our drinks (a soft drink, an alcoholic beverage, and a glass of sweet white wine). After 10 minutes, the drinks arrived at the same time as our order was taken, but the wine served was a dry white. We pointed this out, and we had to wait another 10 minutes to get the correct glass. We then ordered two skewered beef pears and a chicken supreme. After a long wait, after 40 minutes, we were told that they were out of beef pears… almost an hour after our arrival. That was already unacceptable. So we switched to three chicken supremes, requesting them well-done. We were offered a soft drink and coffee (after the meal), and a few slices of cured ham while we waited. 25 minutes later, the dishes arrived, along with apologies and a promise that the cooking had been done with particular care… but again, disappointment: the chicken was pink. After an hour and a half wait, it was difficult to send the food back, so we ate what we could. My mother barely ate anything. When it came time to pay, we were hoping for a more substantial gesture of goodwill. The result: only the two coffees and a soft drink were offered, but the dishes were charged in full, for a bill of €72. An hour and a half wait, order errors, unavailable dishes, and cooking times not as requested… it was a very disappointing experience. Let's hope it was just an isolated incident.

09/06/2026: One of the nicest and best small hotels we have ever stayed in. Lovely building in amazing location, only 100m from the harbour. Room comfortable and spacious, with air conditioning coping easily with 30c+ temperatures while we were there. Gardens are great place to sunbathe in comfort, with added bonus of very pleasant small swimming pool. Breakfasts a real highlight, both the quality and range of food and the friendly service in the shady courtyard. Parking works well once pre-booked, albeit spaces are quite tight. Parking sensors very useful. Very much hope we get the chance to visit again.

14/06/2026: Excellent food, very welcoming service, and a superb burger! The pepper beers and recycled bread were just okay, but that's a matter of taste; no regrets about trying them.

27/07/2026: Disappointing. That's the word that comes to mind to describe our experience. Deplorable is the word to describe the service. Apparently, ordering three beers and a baked Camembert is enough to irritate the waiter 🤷‍♀️. Complete indifference, bordering on insolence, when we pointed out that the baked Camembert was simply warm and cubed instead of melted. Spoiler alert: it was bad. The Troll has changed its atmosphere since the new owner took over. And it's such a shame because this pub has potential, but this behavior completely ruins the experience. Keep walking; there are other bars that serve good beers without treating you with contempt.

25/07/2026: My partner and I regularly visit La Rochelle and have walked past this pub several times. It caught our eye with its selection of beers (we're beer enthusiasts). We received a very warm welcome, with excellent beer recommendations, and they even let us taste before we ordered. The beer platter was fantastic value for money 👌 – so far, the best we've had in La Rochelle in a long time. We highly recommend this place!
