It had been 20 years since I'd been to a Courte Paille restaurant.
This one was really good.
Meat cooked over an open fire was incredibly tender.
Starters were only €3.
Great atmosphere and service too.
Perfect for families.
13/04/2026: The portions are tiny. Two small gherkins for a charcuterie board, and just a single slice of bread… The good taste is lacking. The service is mediocre: in short: avoid it…

The Smoking Dog Pub

Well located.
But drinking iced tea for 4 euros (approximately) from the bottom of a plastic bottle is just okay... and the taste is just okay. Wouldn't it be better in a small glass bottle?

As a Turk myself, I can definitely recommend this place. The meat is homemade and the spit-roasted meat is prepared with care; you can taste the difference. 🥙🇹🇷
The kebab is generous, well-seasoned, and the ingredients are fresh—nothing like those mass-produced kebabs.
The service is friendly, and the quality is excellent.
For me, it's clearly one of the best kebabs in Lyon; I highly recommend it!
24/03/2026: To begin with, when they advertise a veal kebab but it's actually frozen chicken, it's a bad start. The meat has no taste at €9.50 for a kebab, that's a real rip-off. Then, it's true that for that price, I expected it to be more substantial; it was really skimpy on meat, leaving you wanting more. As for the service, it's alright considering the rip-off; at least there was a smile.

05/04/2026: Really quite average, we all agree the meat was very average. A simple apology when you order the wrong dish isn't really appreciated.
Nothing exceptional at all. And €10 for peppermint tea... In short, we won't be going back.
28/03/2026: We arrived as a group of four, without a reservation, at 2:50 pm. We were greeted with a smile, the meat was delicious, and the sauces... In short, a wonderful time. Thank you to the team, both in the dining room and in the kitchen.

26/03/2026: After waiting in the cold for a long time it was great to finally try the food at this place.
Menu is simple: meat, fries, salad, a selection of drinks.
The food was good, but the meat portion was tiny. If it wasn't for the fries you are definitely getting out hungry.
However, it was reasonably priced.
Service is world class.
Worth the wait? Maybe.
25/03/2026: Excellent as usual. We're regulars at L'Entrecôte restaurants.
The service was incredibly good, special mention to our waiter Hugo who was very friendly and professional.
Hugo certainly has a bright future in the restaurant industry.

25/09/2024: Salad full of oil, didn't have time to finish until the hot dish arrived... and really mediocre hamburger (not cooked as I asked for more!) no frankly I don't recommend it
1st review is from 2020, we returned to the restaurant and nothing to see, things have changed so I am changing the number of stars 🌟
25/09/2024: Dish order received 1 hour later and colder. I asked to just reheat the meat, as a result they brought me a burnt dish, chicken with potatoes, which I couldn't even eat because they were so burnt.

14/05/2024: Dans ce restaurant nous sommes plongés dans le grand Liban, comme dans un fauteuil : les sièges et le décor est typique du pays du hommos. Jusqu'à la carafe ! Dans l'assiette, c'est plutôt très bon.

17/05/2024: Joli restaurant, mais trop cher pour ce que c'est, a part le mezze et le kunafé, les assiettes n ont rien à envier au assiettes kebab du coin qui sont peut-être même meilleurs
16/03/2024: Le restaurant vraiment pas mal le personnel aussi mis a part la chef de service vraiment pas commercial et prend mal les commandes, dommage tres inconpétente .je n y retournerai pas et je ne le recommande pas de plus c est cher pour ce que c est.
