30/08/2026: A very bad lunch. Le Cardinal des Mers used to be an institution. Our family, who had been frequenting this restaurant for decades, has unfortunately lost its luster; only the view of the sea remains enchanting. On this Sunday at the end of August, we had chosen two set menus. The price was far too high for the quality of the food. The seafood platter included lopsided oysters, which meant they had lost their liquor... a worn knife that had lost its edge... far from ideal for cutting meat, accompanied by a tiny spoonful of mashed potatoes with the sea bass... and the profiterole's choux pastry was soggy... Our meal was marred by the incessant barking of a small dog at the next table. We finally complained and were moved to another table; it wasn't very pleasant to have to move during our meal, as the dog apparently had priority! Not to mention that this dog, sitting on its owner's lap, was eating from her plate—not very hygienic at all! Dog saliva carries pathogens like E. coli or salmonella, which sometimes persist after machine washing, increasing the risk of infection for humans. And let's not even mention the cold and dismissive attitude of the management, who took our €103 payment with a perfunctory "we apologize for the inconvenience." A word to the wise: steer clear.

02/09/2026: Small campsite restaurant with very welcoming staff. The cuisine is classic, but generally well-prepared, and some dishes were even exceptionally good. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed an Atlantic salad with mango, scallops, cod loin, and salad greens... everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and delicious. Absolutely perfect! Satisfactory value for money. I'll definitely be back!

30/08/2026: Great menu with something for everyone at very reasonable prices. Attentive and friendly staff. We had a great time at the karaoke night.

20/08/2026: The wait was very long for ordering, service, and even payment. I understand that deliveries arrived shortly before the evening service, but still, I would have appreciated being informed beforehand that I would be spending over an hour there, especially since I was eating alone and expected in the evening. Also, I had asked for no onions in the salad, but there were loads. It's a shame, because otherwise, the value for money is good.

18/08/2026: Back for the second year, still as good and generous as ever, and the owner even acknowledged it, which is great. I recommend it even more. Don't hesitate.

28/08/2026: This is unbelievable... At 8 PM, we asked if it would be possible to get it in an hour, and they told us they might be out of batter. I asked if I could call and if they would be available, but 20 minutes later, I couldn't reach them. At 8:30 PM, we came back and sat down. Only to be told, out of the blue, that they were out of sweet batter and that we should just get ice cream. Unbelievable. What a shame, I think the crepes are good...

The welcome and the waitresses were so friendly and welcoming, the service was impeccable 👍, the menus and the taste were excellent, especially the supreme burger 😍, a beautiful setting in the city center opposite the church with a little entertainment – ​​what more could you ask for? 28/08/2026: We were surprised by the negative reviews of this restaurant. We went there several times during our stay in Saint Georges de Didonne and were very satisfied with both the food and the service. Our 5-year-old son (the little boy with the lollipop, a fan of grenadine and chocolate ice cream 😉) loved it. See you next summer! 😊

28/08/2026: I left their place and I was still hungry. All the specialty dishes come with alcohol. I ate a chicken fillet instead of mussels.
