28/11/2024: Le plat du jour était parfait. Eviter la planche à partager à 16€ . Une arnaque. Pour deux avons eu une fine tranche de jambon blanc, une fine tranche de jambon fumé, 2 fines tranches de salami et une salade verte.

02/09/2024: We bought baguettes and croissants and were very satisfied. Cheap and very tasty! The saleswoman was also very friendly - we would shop here again at any time.
19/08/2024: Excellent pan au chocolat with one of the best coffees drunk in France, because it is made with an espresso machine. The young blonde saleswoman with glasses is gorgeous

Arrived at 2 to eat without reservation and asked us to wait 5 minutes while setting up a table, until nothing unusual.
Once installed, you wait 15 minutes to get the card and another 15 minutes to take your order.
Once again a long wait to have our aperitif and our starters (1 handful of salad with two cherry tomatoes for €3 and a plate of charcuterie bought in a supermarket Given the quality) I tell you that I am a cook.
After having finished our starters our plates remained on the table for almost 30 minutes and we waited another 30 to 40 minutes for 2 pizzas which were not great (a cheese tartiflette certainly very old because it was very bitter and liquid topping) but after such waiting for more appetite.
On the service I would say that the air is churning all the time the owner walks around doing nothing and bursts out laughing or I would rather say that she giggles all the time the poor woman who takes care of the pancakes also has to do immerses her and I think that at her age she should do less and above all stop slamming the kitchen door when entering the room, especially when customers are eating less than a meter from this door.
In short, all this to say that I will no longer return to this establishment and I do not recommend it to everyone.
Too much waiting for canteen cuisine and a total lack of respect for customers.
I did my cooking apprenticeship in Dinan in a restaurant where if I had behaved this way my boss would have given me ribs.
05/11/2023: Restaurant chosen by chance, we are in the area for the holidays...
After booking for 12:45 p.m., we were served around 1:35 p.m.
We ate pretty well.
I regret that the restaurant does not offer a children's menu 🫤
The fries were frozen and the scallops seemed to me to be too 😬
I can understand the wait, we are in the summer period and the crowds are such that it is difficult to be on all fronts (and the job is so complicated) but the quality of the products seems essential to me!
The toilets were very clean and I was happy to find periodic protection available (a rare thing!).
But I'm not sure we'll come back...

Served on a disgusting table, the waiter doesn't even go around to serve correctly and does it from the street, he doesn't even bend over to distribute the drinks, it's up to the customer to make the effort to collect them. Despite the setting, it makes you want to leave as quickly as possible!

24/11/2024: Hot and cold goat's cheese salad with ONE poor little potato pancake on top, blah fries, blah pancakes. A real tourist trap as it should be.
10/11/2024: Not great..., the 2 waitresses are in trouble with a dozen tables... I ask for the rest when they serve me my starter and the reaction is very unpleasant... I'm not there to annoy you but to eat and I contribute to your turnover. so a little consideration would not be too much madam... one of the two waitresses (in pants) does her best, the other (in a skirt) must review that way of respond to customers… Basically, a restaurant to avoid… Too bad the place is nice… service professionals in catering are rare, very rare…
As for the dishes, the casserole was not one...I have more than 20 years of experience and I have served thousands of seafood casseroles...a casserole without juice or sauce is not one, sorry...
What saved the story a little was the kindness of the waitress (in pants) and the glass of Quinçi…

07/01/2025: We bought 2 individual king cakes today and enjoyed them reheating in the oven with tea at home.
We enjoyed it, they are well puffed up, crispy and not too sweet and above all not greasy. We are delighted with our purchase, because it is difficult to find good pancakes, and there is no bitter almond flavor which I hate, to add in the almond cream.
05/01/2025: Disappointing! Strength for consumption and not pleasant at all! Avoid, a tourist trap!

09/08/2023: With its characteristic silhouette, this mid-15th century building called La Maison Mère Pourcel is located in the heart of Dinan.
With its imposing dimensions, this five-story house bears witness to the wealth of Dinan's merchants and the remarkable know-how of master carpenters at the end of the medieval period. The half-timbered structure, although functional, is original in its design. In contrast to the general plain exterior decoration, a small kneeling winged figure is carved on one of the corner posts, to the southeast of the house. Called “Saint-Dinan” by the Dinannais, it is in fact a representation of the Archangel Michael and its dresses are characteristic of fashion during the reign of the King of France Charles VII (1422-1461).
In February 2019, a dendrochronology study (tree belt) revealed a single construction period, with the woods coming from a single period of tree felling in the winter of 1457. The Pourcel Mother House was therefore built in spring 1458.
The origin of the name dates back to 1935, when Virginie Pourcel purchased a commercial lease from the City of Dinan in order to establish the “Café des porches”. After
necessary work, it opened in 1937. In December 1944 Jean Rosaz and his son
Jean-Claude took over and transformed the popular café into a gourmet restaurant
The medieval heritage of Dinan is exceptional but fragile Part of the city walls of Dinan collapsed in 2015, and now the fire of Mère Pourcel.
The fire of April 15, 2019 which struck Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral
triggered an unprecedented act of generosity on the part of the French and
lovers of heritage from around the world. The fire in Paris Cathedral revealed the
threat to our heritage. This is why the Heritage Foundation worked
for twenty years with owners, town halls and associations
protect the many buildings under threat throughout France. The City of Dinan will join the Heritage Foundation’s campaign entitled: “Never again!” ". A specific sponsorship campaign is launched for La Maison Mère Pourcel.

18/06/2024: Le Saint Louis exceeded expectations. We were thankful to get reservations just hours prior. We were warmly greeted, immediately seated, and magnificently fed. The broche du jour and accompanying legume were superb. Nearly every dessert was selected at our table and none were disappointing. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

03/09/2024: Venimos con unos amigos que nos la recomendaron. Nos ha encantado! Todo muy bien servido y a pesar de estar en plena temporada alta y en una zona muy turística; la calidad era siempre top en todo; tanto en platos, presentación como servicio.
Probamos varias cosas tanto dulces como saladas dejándonos un muy buen sabor de boca y ganas de repetir! Un sitio altamente recomendable.
02/09/2024: Arrivés devant cet établissement en fin d'après midi, nous demandons si nous pouvons prendre un verre en attendant l'heure du repas.
Un jeune serveur nous indique où nous installer en terrasse en nous donnant la carte.
Nous constatons que les tarifs sont relativement élevés.
Après quelques minutes d'attente, arrive une dame acariâtre, qui replace violemment la carte des menus affichée devant la terrasse, et nous sommes de changer de place, sur un ton qui n'attend pas de réplique.
Bonjour l'accueil......
Ne voulant pas déranger cette personne plus longtemps, nous décidons de quitter l'établissement.
