24/01/2026: A warm and welcoming reception, both by phone and in person. The dining room is pleasant and airy. The cuisine appears simple (open-faced sandwiches and pizzas) but is enriched with surprising touches (various flowers and sprouts) that enhance the flavors and textures, crafted with imagination and passion. A very reasonable price for a complete and hearty meal. €32.
Don't be put off by the address in Lyons-la-Forêt!
22/01/2026: I tried the new item: the hot dog. The bun was perfectly soft, and the cheddar cheese was just right. I highly recommend it. But don't miss the generously filled gourmet coffee either.

09/12/2025: Always friendly and helpful, the waiters and waitresses are top-notch, the owner is very nice... the food is excellent in a beautiful setting.

28/12/2025: The food was wonderfully fragrant. There were two of us, and we each tasted our respective dishes; they were all excellent. It's exactly what you expect from a bistronomic restaurant: simple cuts of meat and vegetables elevated by flavorful cooking. The service was pleasant, unpretentious, and friendly, with a touch of humor. We had a very enjoyable time.
27/12/2025: No complaints about the service, however I cannot accept eating a €3.50 crepe cooked on a 12cm diameter crepe pan.

02/02/2026: We were very disappointed with our stay at the Hotel de la Licorne:
- The pool and jacuzzi were cold and had no bubbles, the hammam was not working, and the sauna was cold (no more than 60°C).
- The €20 per person breakfast was on par with an Ibis hotel: the omelet-style eggs tasted watery and were overcooked, the cold cuts were mass-produced, and the pastries were probably straight from the freezer. You'd expect to find some decent pastries for that price, but no!
- The bistro-restaurant was the only positive aspect of our stay, but we still found the price/quality ratio quite high.
- The bedding wasn't very comfortable, and the housekeeping left much to be desired.
- We shared our concerns, but no compensation was offered. In short, we absolutely do not recommend this hotel!
13/01/2026: If this hotel is a 4-star, then I'm the Pope. Two light switches didn't work; turning them on and off was complicated, especially at 5:00 PM when it was dark. There was limescale around the faucets, and the shower drain was clogged with hair. The room was never cleaned during our multi-night stay. The spa was included in the reservation, and we would have liked to use it, but the water was less warm than in our local public pool, so we gave up on this little pleasure and, as a reward, my partner caught a cold.
All of this was reported to the hotel reception, who told us that the information would be passed on to the maintenance staff, end of story. We wish this hadn't happened.
The only positive point was the comfortable bedding. The bistro-style restaurant offered excellent value for money. The gastronomic restaurant was tasty; the food was good. We might return for a nice meal, but we'll forget about the hotel.

10/08/2024: Er zit een andere eigenaar in. Totaal andere keuken. Meer een soort bar met toast, hapjes, een burger, 1 soort pizza, hotdog etc. We hadden telefonisch gereserveerd, het nummer was nog hetzelfde, maar bij aankomst bleek het een ander restaurant. We zijn er toch maar gaan eten. Ze serveerden lekkere kaas vooraf, maar de pizza die we bestelden was erg zwart. Wel zeer fijne bediening en een mooi terras.
