24/08/2024: It's a beautiful restaurant. We went once for lunch and because it was so exceptional again for dinner. We had the menu both times (lunch for €23 and evening for €43) and were both so positively surprised by the kitchen. It is a composition of flavors that is absolutely harmonious. The service is perfect. Not intrusive and still permanently present. In our 4 weeks holiday in La Ciotat we never ate better. It's perfect!

22/01/2025: It was really nice. You can swim and climb in the sea there. The surroundings are simply wonderful. The food in the hotel restaurant is very tasty. If you are nearby you should definitely come here. It is recommended both in summer and winter.

12/10/2024: We held a farewell party for around forty people and I was pleasantly surprised by the organization, the quality of the products and the professionalism of the staff.
Point for reflection: perhaps set up a price with a colored bracelet for people who do not drink alcohol in order to reduce the impact.
I keep the address.

09/07/2025: The mussels and fries with Roquefort cheese were tasted here during the holidays and how can I tell you that it was perfect 😍 Very good, homemade fries, cozy atmosphere and lovely staff. Thank you for everything!

28/09/2024: Magnificent location and very friendly waitress we loved it, however too little choice (almost only fish) and therefore very expensive €150 for 2 without alcohol. Too bad, I hope this comment will make them evolve.

10/09/2024: Very good restaurant, faultless service with joy and good humor despite a lot of people. It is necessary to reserve the highly rated restaurant weekend. Choice from the menu renewed regularly according to the seasons.
Dishes well served and plentiful.
Beautiful view of the harbor, even from the veranda. Clean toilets. Dogs are accepted.
One of the best restaurants on the old port.

20/08/2024: Rotation des plats de la semaine de plus en plus orienté vers la même cuisines , vegan/vege...
Cuisines traditionnelle , Provençale, Ou est tu ? On dirais que le mot viande est devenu une insulte... marre de ce lobby du vege qui voudrais qu'on bouffe tous du soja à longueur de journée...
Alors c'est sur que pour faire du profit sa c'est top , 15euros pour du riz blanc , un bout de truite, des pousses de je ne sais quoi , et trois fèves qui se battent en duel sans sauces , sans préparation...
On est en Provence, elles sont où les saveurs de la méditerranée la ?
Balancer une certaines quantité de pseudo legumes "à la modes" même pas préparé, sur un fond de riz blanc ou de nouilles toutes fades dans une boîte en cartons, nous la vendre 15euros, et avoir comme slogans "Cantines des chefs" c'est ce qu'on appelles avoir du culot...
De temp en temp quand même ils nous propose un plat "normal" mais toujours moins disponible que les 2 autres plats Vege , et d'ailleurs si vous lisez ceci , vous remarquerez que les plats qui reste à la fin du services c'est jamais les plats "traditionnelle"...
Respecter vôtres slogans , et travailler vôtres cuisines , au lieux de surfer sur la vague du vege...

10/09/2024: You can go there with your eyes closed You will not be disappointed, the food is very good, the staff is very friendly, the same goes for the owners, you feel good there. Good value for money.
08/09/2024: Nothing fits the dishes in the great pictures, there are only a few daily specials. Today three thin slices of beef from the microwave and dried fries should cost 22 euros. The ambience and other guests are more suitable for a beer bistro. Overall, outrageous!

28/09/2024: Excellent cuisine, very friendly and attentive staff, all in quick service.
We even take leftovers in case we don't finish the plate!
The possibility of ordering pizzas (excellent and plentiful) is pure joy.

21/09/2024: I recently dined at L'Escalet restaurant and was very disappointed with the experience. I ordered octopus and polenta, but the octopus totally lacked flavor, and the polenta was a mess, completely liquid. It is surprising that such a poorly prepared dish is served.
In addition, no atmosphere is created by the restaurant. They seem to take advantage of the setting of the port of La Ciotat, attracting tourists thanks to the night market, without worrying about the quality of their offer. These visitors will leave without even knowing the flavor of good polenta.
The service was not up to par either. We were placed in a corner, not really taken care of, and the waiter spent his time making jokes about the tourists, rather than focusing on the customers present. It would have been more appreciable if he invested more, especially towards local customers who expect a minimum of quality on their plate.
To top it off, when choosing desserts, we were assured that everything was homemade. Unfortunately, the dessert we chose was covered in industrial whipped cream, which was very disappointing.
In summary, Escalet no longer meets expectations, both in terms of quality of dishes and service. I no longer recommend this address.
