28/03/2024: 2 consecutive evenings at Etienne's, if we came back it must be because we had a great time! A warm atmosphere, simple and generous cuisine! All the dishes are a delight: the supions, the eggplant gratin, the Lamb skewers with rosemary cooked over a wood fire accompanied by potatoes! Not forgetting the traditional apple pie! The boss and the waitress are charming! We have found our favorite restaurant for our next stay in Marseille!

I thought we were there to have a good time, what a mistake on my part The service of the young ladies was accompanied by a non-existent smile with a haughty and disdainful air, it is the first time that we have been received like this in an establishment supposed to symbolize the pinnacle of an art. The art of French Service. Then comes the starter with stuffed olive and other biscuits, followed by an oyster starter A signature dish less good than the other times, the awakening of the taste buds was not there on this dish, But this is not the most serious false note, the midges poached with this light mousse will not leave not the most convenient memory. The pigeon was excellent with perfect cooking, just a sauce that was really too salty, which prevents you from enjoying this dish. The red mullet is also very good Concerning The exceptionally well-made dessert, a melilot soufflé accompanied by an iced grapefruit product, the only dessert that deserves the reputation of the establishment The surprise of the sweets that are in front of you from the start and amusing, the quality is average and the chocolate with its ganache of unparalleled bitterness but the tastes and colors are in nature. We salute the approach of the chef for coming to our table to see what was wrong as well as the gesture of the glass of champagne offered but this unfortunately does not make up for the unpleasant service from the staff which is the most disturbing in my opinion I would like to point out that the 2 young men were up to the task and noted the sabotage of the young ladies, or the lack of know-how, I don't really know. If we gave 1/5 it is because this time we were disappointed to pay because the quality was really not there. I would have preferred to pay 100 euros more for a real quality experience. imagine a couple who saves a year to live such an experience...
