The food is first class (both vegetarian and meat-based dishes) as is the service which is unobtrusive but always attentive. Pound for pound or, more accurately, euro for euro, Racines punches above its weight. Thank you for a great experience.

The atmosphere was very cozy, classy, ​​and refined at first, but quickly became very noisy with the arrival of a large table and a family with very noisy children on the upper deck during moments of relaxation to admire the view between courses. In short, it's possible to have a delightful and peaceful time, but it's a bit of a gamble with the clientele, where some seem to think they're in the cafeteria of the local shopping center.

27/06/2026: Disappointed with my experience. I ordered a slice of beef on toast for €16 and asked before ordering if the beef was cooked. I was told it was, but when it arrived, the meat didn't match what I'd been told. As I don't like raw meat, I couldn't enjoy the dish. I find it regrettable that no compensation was offered despite the misinformation. I expected at least a solution or some kind of acknowledgment from the restaurant.

A warm welcome, quick service, and beautifully presented dishes, with the duck breast cooked to perfection 😉. A friendly place where you truly enjoy dining. A great place to share and a very pleasant chat with the owners.

05/07/2026: A market where you can sample a variety of local products. The most popular items are oysters (very good and inexpensive), shrimp, and conch (similar to sea snails 🐚, we really enjoyed them). There are other things too. We also tried the cheese board and the Italian charcuterie. The beer is cheap, and the white wine that goes well with seafood is good and reasonably priced. The only downside is that it's located in a sometimes rough neighborhood (we didn't have any problems). It's advisable to arrive early.

I had the 6-course tasting menu, which was full of interesting interpretations and surprises. The service was friendly and inviting, happy to use English when my French faltered. Dinners like this are why we come to France.

We also received a warm welcome; arriving at 2 pm, the chef gave us a table without any trouble. Shortly after our arrival, some departing customers told us we were going to have a wonderful meal, which was a good sign of what to expect ;) The chef was very pleasant and always came to our table at just the right moments. We waited very little and were not disappointed at all. This is a place you should know about in Bordeaux :)
