09/09/2024: Overnight stay while hiking the GR5. Our room was in serious need of maintenance. The towel rail was hanging off the wall. The room had only one electrical outlet.
Facilities were limited. Shared showers and toilets.
Everything looks a bit unkempt, both inside and out.
The owner is friendly and quick to serve.
The kitchen looks clean. We weren't particularly impressed with dinner. It was a sort of English pork pie. We couldn't quite place the flavor. We didn't enjoy it that much, but perhaps it was a local specialty.
Breakfast was well-organized. Good coffee!
02/09/2024: panoramic view of the markstein nothing to say, except in terms of catering be careful it's an inn nothing to do with a farm inn, the quality of the dishes nothing to do with the titles, marcaire plate with supposedly the specialty "roigebrageldi, a simple potato salad with bacon and pie with stuffing or are we looking for marinated meat?, I knew this place a very long time ago where it was really a farm inn with products made on site cheese bacon etc, you had to book a week in advance to have lunch there, nothing to do with today

11/11/2025: We used to love coming here to enjoy a good crepe. Now they're served to us tasteless on cardboard plates.
29/10/2025: The tarte flambée is always very good here. We like to come here when we're in the Vosges Mountains.

04/07/2025: Five of us were there on our motorbikes in June 2025. The location is fantastic, up on the Markstein. The rooms are simple but clean, only the showers are a bit too small for overweight people. The breakfast was continental, with everything included. The half-board dinner was excellent, always at least three courses, regional specialties. Everything was delicious, but not for people who only know schnitzel. The girls in the service were amazing, incredibly nice, helpful, and approachable. The only downside: the bar always closed around 9:00 PM. But then we were refreshed in the morning, which was OK.
I think we'll be back.
