13/01/2026: Tiny but cozy place. Gorgeous food, superb hospitality. The kitchen is open to the tables. Fresh, authentic ingredients and original dishes. Absolutely affordable. What more could you ask for?
04/01/2026: We had a lovely last meal here with a group of friends before some left home after a great week of skiing! Recommended by our friend Kit back in Jersey! We were so glad we managed to get a table. Everyone loved every dish and it felt so cosy and lovely staff. We might be back again this week if we can!

26/08/2025: Disappointed with my experience, 4-5 reminders to several different people to try to get the cards to at least order a menu for our child, a duck breast served iced in the center with a tasteless morel sauce, it's a shame because the offer and the place are tempting. The server was very kind despite everything and the setting is very nice.
13/08/2025: The service wasn't great, and the food wasn't amazing either. Perhaps other users gave it 5 stars for the quick arrival of the water. However, 25 minutes to receive the menu is a bit long, even though it wasn't crowded. The burger was okay, the salad was good, and the fries weren't up to scratch.
The place, however, is super nice with the pool.

19/08/2025: Tourist trap, ridiculous, tasteless, and overpriced food. The only terrace was empty and full of midges, as you might expect. Avoid.
17/08/2025: The waitress was friendly but clearly under pressure, and the owner wasn't smiling, just there to take the money.
A small, very classic Bruger restaurant with no special sauce, but quality meat at €25 is expensive!
The woks are very disappointing: bland rice and poorly cooked shrimp and beef. Flavorless. The quantities were really small for the price of almost €30 per dish! A glass of lemonade for €4... we did without dessert...
Better to move on!

20/06/2024: Toujours un excellent moment que j'aime partager à chaque fois en famille comme un petit rituel. Les produits sont d'excellente qualité. Très belle carte des vins. Décoration soignée. Une grande attention.

26/04/2024: Nous adorons ce restaurant, on y mange très bien, que ce soit la raclette, la pierrade ou la fondue! Fromage de qualité, viandes et charcuterie vraiment excellentes! Tout est réuni pour passer un excellent moment.
Chaque année, pour nous, c'est passage obligatoire au Refuge !!
Le patron et la patronne sont adorables sans oublier la serveuse.

23/07/2024: And summer too! We knew winter but not yet summer. Apart from the snow, the big difference is the calm!
To get up there, it's worth it but access via the Casse du Boeuf chairlift is possible and it becomes easier. Then in less than 15 minutes of descent we arrive at Echaillon. Great welcome, games for children, pétanque, darts... You can spend the afternoon there!
For the meal, the salads are superb but we decided to go with 2 magnificent beef ribs. Bravo for the sauces which accompany wonderfully.
We will come back!
18/07/2024: Everything was perfect during our visit on July 17, 2024. The splendid view, the spaced terrace tables, the wine list, the barbecue grills - we hadn't eaten such a good duck breast for a while - the games that kept our children busy (bouncy castle, swing, trampoline), ultra-attentive service. The prices were really reasonable for a mountain restaurant. Thank you again for taking pity on us and bringing my tired mother back to the Casse du Boeuf. Children will remember this jeep ride for a long time. We will definitely come back in winter and hope that the prime rib will still be on the menu.

23/08/2024: Having come with Manu, the cousins from Lyon (Beaujolais winegrowers), recommend this restaurant for its welcome and its hospitality without moderation.
The cuisine is excellent with quality local products, especially the lemon dessert. I recommend the prime rib, accompanied by Saint Joseph red wine.
Finally, I recommend the digo “larch liqueur”
21/08/2024: But what a service ♥️ being professional, well done to the waitresses, end of season, they are helpful, smiling, pleasant always listening to the customer.
Excellent food, we had the duck breast, the truffle pasta and the St Félicien, all the plates came back empty.

La patronne est d une gentillesse....adorable, gentille, bienveillante, rigolote....nous avons adoré tellement que nous y sommes revenus pour le goûter et boire un verre en compagnie des ours en peluche. Je recommande les yeux fermés !

10/09/2024: Toujours au top, attention cependant que la plupart des plats étaient déjà présents sur des cartes antérieures. Je n'ai donc pas eu l'effet OUAH !! de mes précédentes visites.
03/09/2024: Ci sono vari menù tra cui poter scegliere, noi abbiamo optato per quello a 42€ che comprende due antipasti, un piatto e un dolce.
La cena inizia con un benvenuto dello chef, semplice e gustoso.
Comincia il percorso scelto, oltre alla presentazione scenografica dei piatti, ha le giuste quantità e soprattutto qualità.
Siamo rimasti veramente entusiasti di ogni portata.
L’ambiente è intimo ed accogliente.
Personale disponibile e preparato.

09/07/2024: Belle terrasse à l'abri du vent. Accueil très chaleureux par le couplé de tenancier. Propose des plats montagnards avec des produits frais. Tout est fait maison 🏠 Nous y sommes rendus trois fois pendant notre séjour d'une semaine.

26/02/2024: La folie douce a Serre Chevalier. Une super table avec des desserts exceptionnels (digne d’un étoilé). Une super ambiance avec parfois un DJ qui fait grimper l’ambiance. L’équipe est top et super efficace malgré le monde. Ils savent être rapide tout en sourire et gentillesse. La carte est variée et c’est toujours succulent. Hyper bien placé c’est le spot par excellence dès que le soleil est là.
23/01/2024: Au sommet, ce restaurant bénéficie d’ un emplacement exceptionnel. La cuisine et le service sont au top !
Le plat du jour: les travers de porc étaient fondants a souhait et plein de saveurs.
Les serveurs non seulement sont très professionnels mais aussi accueillants, attentionnés et attentifs a nos demandes.
Un vrai sans faute. Nous recommandons et reviendrons
