26/04/2026: We had a wonderful time on the terrace of this restaurant, enjoying delicious, well-prepared cuisine made with high-quality, local ingredients. The service was impeccable (friendly staff, professionally prepared sea bream), which is truly appreciated and rather rare these days. Moreover, the value for money is perfect.

01/05/2026: Requires advanced reservation as there are limited seating. For us the food was just so-so, lyonnaise salad was fair but the other two dishes we had, the quenelle and the traditional calf head were lackluster. A pass for us and with the steep pricing, could get better more value for money elsewhere. Also, do note there is an additional charge if you are paying using an international card. This was not warned beforehand and only after you tap your card. The server was kind and that was worth to mention and we appreciate the patience.

We ordered: * €35 (Entrée + main (+€2) + dessert) * €31 (main + dessert) So the total should have been €66. However, the total on the receipt was €70. When I pointed out that the total didn’t match the set menu prices, the staff member went to check for about three minutes. Then she came back and said: “You have to pay VAT (TVA), so it has been added.”(Yes, she seriously gave me this explanation.) I’ve never been to a restaurant in France where menu prices are shown excluding tax.😂 Maybe the staff member is just following the owner’s instructions? If so, I actually feel bad for her…

I was already familiar with this restaurant, which has a very good reputation for being a classic Lyonnais bouchon... and now I can say that its reputation is well-deserved. I highly recommend it.

The menu is short and precise: each dish is generously prepared, a beautiful tribute to tradition and the culinary expertise honed throughout the restaurant's rich history. Ah, the Hélène Neveu sauce on the veal trotter salad! Bold and delightful flavors, accompanied by excellent bread of the same caliber. The chef is equally adept at desserts (the praline tart is unforgettable), and the wine list is impressive, particularly the Beaujolais, served by the glass, carafe, carafe, and of course, bottle—a fine example of its appellation. The service is warm and attentive. You'll want to get out your calendar immediately to find a date and return!

10/04/2026: A hidden gem on Place Gailleton, tucked away from the street. The food is delicious and generous, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It's simple, but absolutely perfect. From appetizers to desserts, everything is homemade, and it's flawless! Incidentally, the entire staff is lovely and contributes to making this restaurant a truly excellent choice!

12/04/2026: Very nice place. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Great options for exploring local cuisine. The bread with butter was amazing! We ordered Gnafron with cream and chicken liver pâté, calf's head with gribiche sauce, and hot sausage with steamed potatoes and green salad. Highly recommend.

12/04/2026: This is a place I regularly go for lunch, and I always enjoy it. The menu is fairly consistent, with dishes available year-round, complemented by a few seasonal offerings. The daily special, however, changes every day, making it easy to find something different. My go-to dish is the Asian-inspired tuna dish, which I order almost every time I visit: a wonderfully fresh, well-balanced, and consistently excellent dish. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and expertly prepared, with generous portions. The cuisine is simple and effective, but always with a little twist that makes all the difference. The setting is pleasant, and the service is charming and very attentive. The restaurant also has a terrace for sunny days, as well as a small private room, ideal for a business lunch or a group gathering. In short, a very good, reliable, and high-quality lunch spot where you can enjoy delicious food in a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

14/04/2026: The food was very tasty, that's for sure, but… - We had to wait quite a while to get in, even though we saw people leaving the restaurant. When they finally let us in, they did seat about 7 or 8 tables at once, but the wait time wasn't the same for everyone… - The appetizers arrived quickly, but it took 20-25 minutes between finishing them and the main course. - After finishing his main course, my husband had to leave (we went during his lunch break on a weekday, and because of the wait and how long it took for the food to arrive, he didn't have time for anything else). I then waited another 15 minutes before they even asked if I wanted dessert, and then another 15-20 minutes for it to arrive. In total, just the waiting time was too much for a meal that was very tasty, but not the best in the area. Especially during the week, you're better off taking advantage of the set menu at any other restaurant.
