16/08/2026: How lucky we were to stumble into le p’tit vert on a very hot day in August. As tourists in Lyon one can often feel like an inconvenience for restaurateurs, but the charming staff and owners here gave us a taste of the local experience. Everything from the Frâicheur salad to the citron givré was beautiful. A lovely place.

07/08/2026: A restaurant that keeps things simple but does them well. The service is very pleasant and you quickly feel at ease. As a bonus, if you keep your eyes peeled, you might even spot a French football legend 👀

28/08/2026: I sincerely believe Fiona and Brian should work 24/7 at the Trolley. I find it completely unfair to arrive at 2:30 pm and not see them. It's devastating news for us every time. 😔 There's always a pang of disappointment when we come for our Ricard and don't get to be served by them. How are we supposed to cope with such a letdown? Fiona and Brian, you are essential to the smooth running of this establishment. We simply ask for your constant presence. Thank you for making it happen.

02/09/2026: What a joy to stumble upon this restaurant while strolling down Rue Mercière! La Mère Cottivet was our favorite bouchon when we lived in Lyon several years ago. It used to be in the Cordeliers district, and when we wanted to go there one day while passing through Lyon, it was gone, and we thought it had closed for good. Anyway… I'm getting carried away with my memories, let's get back to the point: The best Lyonnais bouchon there is, that hasn't changed! Deliciously authentic cuisine, a warm atmosphere, and on top of that, exceptional service! Thank you to Hadrien (with an "H") for this delightful experience, perfect in every way, and for his incredible sense of service. He perfectly embodies the spirit of the place ☺️

23/08/2026: A truly unpleasant experience. The staff were extremely rude, impolite and unprofessional, making us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. Mistakes can happen, but arrogance and a complete lack of basic courtesy are simply unacceptable in hospitality. We left genuinely shocked by the way we were treated. Without doubt one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. We will certainly not return.

If you're looking for traditional French bistro classics in Lyon served with great quality and unbelievable prices, Bouillon Maurice is an absolute must-visit! We started with some classic Lyonnais starters: the local Rosette de Lyon cured sausage served with butter and cornichons, along with a refreshing bowl of Velouté menthe-petits pois (chilled pea and mint soup) and a rich, creamy Cervelle de Canut (a traditional Lyonnais seasoned cheese dip). Every single starter was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. For the main courses, we went with two classic French dishes: Tartare de Bœuf au couteau – Perfectly seasoned hand-cut beef tartare served with a generous portion of golden, crispy fries. Tête de veau sauce gribiche – Tender, beautifully prepared calf's head accompanied by steamed potatoes and a rich, savory gribiche sauce. Absolutely authentic and full of depth! The atmosphere captures the authentic French bouillon charm—lively, welcoming, and unpretentious. Considering the fantastic quality of the food and the incredibly reasonable menu prices, this place offers unbeatable value in Lyon. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a genuine taste of French comfort food!
