12/01/2026: I regularly walked past Le Grec Italien in Remoulins, near the Pont du Gard, thinking I'd give it a try, but twice the place was closed for the holidays. I finally got to go in early January, when it reopened after a 15-day closure, a time when you'd expect a completely renovated establishment with a thorough cleaning and service ready for the new year. The experience left me with mixed feelings, and I probably won't go back unless there's a noticeable change. Le Grec Italien presents itself as a Greek/Italian, halal restaurant. From the moment you enter, you understand that this isn't a place to relax: the space is vast but impersonal, cold and austere, with no decoration, no background music (even a simple soundtrack would help), and no warm lighting. The poor acoustics give the impression of a construction site canteen. The staff seems to be the owner and his wife; the welcome is polite but strictly functional, lacking warmth or any desire to build customer loyalty. The menu is very extensive, too much so for such a small establishment. Pizzas, kebabs, burgers… a variety that clearly exceeds what can be handled with quality. The limited opening hours (lunch and dinner only) further complicate matters. The products are standardized and industrial: bread, sauces, and bland kebab meat. Several customers even mentioned pizzas that tasted like they were frozen, which accurately reflects the overall quality of the offering.
A key point is the presentation of the dishes: sauces and fries are placed directly on the paper placemat, which sometimes spills over onto the tray. The sandwich is wrapped in aluminum foil with a single, insufficient, tiny napkin. This way of serving gives a real sense of disrespect for both the food and the customer, reinforcing the image of an industrial and careless service. Regarding hygiene, I went there just after the reopening, a time when one would expect a thorough cleaning. However, baseboards, tile edges, chair legs, electrical outlets, and light fixtures were visibly dirty. This doesn't seem like a one-off oversight, but rather a recurring problem. A thorough cleaning would immediately improve the place's image.
The only truly positive point is the food: decent taste (3/5) and enough to satisfy an appetite (4/5).
I'm trying to distinguish between what one can expect from fast food and the minimum standards. We're not asking for gourmet cuisine, but hygiene, service, and atmosphere remain essential and achievable basics. Here, it's convenient, but not enjoyable.

I usually go across the street, but it was Monday and they were closed. I should have stayed home and made my own food.
15/03/2026: It took far too long to order for four people; a 40-minute wait while customers who arrived after us were served before us.

25/03/2026: I went to eat at a Greek restaurant; it was the last one in Saint-Michel. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the music was great too. The welcome was excellent, and the staff very friendly.
There are plenty of options to suit every budget: they offered us a set menu, as well as à la carte dishes, which vary in price and portion size.
It was a very nice experience, and I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
24/03/2026: We were expecting a warm atmosphere, heady aromas, a bit like the Cyclades, but instead we found a meal straight from Picard, perfectly defrosted... Dripping moussaka, tzatziki in a jar, a pork skewer presented on a metal spit accompanied by half a boiled potato and a small bowl of rice. What a treat!

28/01/2026: After eating there on the way home, we felt unwell and spent the night feeling sick. The only good thing about their place was the fries; the chicken and flank steak were terrible, and the eggs weren't even cooked through. The prices are high for what you get; I don't recommend it if you don't want to get sick.

24/12/2025: Yesterday, I visited the store hoping to buy some traditional Greek pastries: melomakarona and kourabiedes.
While I did find kourabiedes, I couldn't find any real melomakarona... and for good reason: the ones they had were made without syrup and without nuts.
I admit I've seen many variations, but this one takes the cake. It's almost shameful to sell such a thoroughly adulterated product.
Obviously, I didn't buy them—those simple biscuits—and went to Mavrommatis. There, I bought the authentic product and told them about the incident. The two salespeople were speechless, and one of them called the manager, who explained that it was because the Thessalia store had refused to buy the syrup.
It's a disgrace.
If they had any respect for themselves, they would have been better off not offering this product at all.
16/11/2025: I've known this place for a few years and I usually go during the week. However, I made the mistake of going on a Saturday, being in the neighborhood. It was a mistake on my part because my sandwich, made by a young man, was terrible. It was full of oil, the ingredients were unbalanced, and the bread was completely broken. When I bit into it, I left half of it on the tray. A female employee was there when I arrived, but she left as soon as I got there, leaving her colleague alone to handle the cash register and make the sandwiches. I won't be going back on Saturdays. I deducted stars for the atmosphere because the two people there weren't welcoming or pleasant; I got the impression I was bothering them. Disappointing.

22/12/2025: I've never had a disastrous taco. I ordered a two-meat taco with kebab and cordon bleu. This crazy guy put ham in it instead of cordon bleu and told me, "Chicken, ham, béchamel, it's the same thing." I strongly advise against going there. I was hungry, and I'll never be hungry again.
