The decor is stylish and understated. The large-format painting in the dining room, depicting a cityscape, adds a vibrant touch. The tableware, glasses, and cutlery are of exceptional quality and complement the classic ambiance of the dining room.
The service is outstanding. We were served in German with a friendly demeanor, and the staff also spoke English in addition to French. The menu is clearly laid out and was explained in an easy-to-understand manner, complete with suggestions. Towels were provided for cleaning our hands, dropped napkins were replaced, and place settings were cleared and set simultaneously. All of this was done so discreetly, simultaneously for both guests, and always at just the right moment, that we felt constantly cared for and never disturbed.
The wine pairings for the carte-sur-table menu offered a diverse range of flavors and were perfectly matched to the dishes. The sommelier truly knows his craft!
The eight dishes themselves were sophisticated, appropriately portioned, and harmoniously seasoned. At the same time, they showcased a wide array of ingredients and techniques, providing a constant and pleasant surprise. Highlights included the oyster stuffed with bacon and the vanilla cream served in a sugar sphere.
At the beginning and end of the meal, three chocolates were served alongside an amuse-bouche, perfectly complementing the menu.
All in all, the visit was a must!

It was a truly delicious dinner and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food was very tasty, fresh, and prepared with great care. I was particularly impressed by the attentive and friendly service – the entire team was very welcoming and took great care of the guests. We felt welcome from the very first moment. The pleasant atmosphere, the excellent food, and the many thoughtful touches made this evening truly special. We dined here this evening, just the two of us. To all the doubters reading the negative reviews: it's all nonsense – this place is absolutely fantastic!
The atmosphere speaks for itself – an elegant restaurant with a wealth of historical charm, perfectly integrated into the modern world!
The food is meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail and a true culinary delight!
The service is classic, attentive, and leaves nothing to be desired!

Delightful experience. You are encouraged to select one of the chef inspired menus. Even the wait staff do not know what dishes you will be served (which makes choosing a wine pairing a bit challenging). Our group of 4 selected the 4 course discovery menu. This turned out to be ample portions. The oyster dish was particularly good. Every dish served came with an explanation of where the ingredients were sourced. The chef is from a town near Lyon called Besse which became a topic of conversation at our table as we thought the waiter said Brest. During our meal, low volume recording of jazz music was playing. In case you are wondering, yes they do have a crocodile in the restaurant (thankfully not alive). Your dietary concerns are noted ahead of meal preparation. Somelier was very knowledgeable.

This was my first ever experience in a Michelin starred restaurant. The facade is very understated - easy to miss except for the crocodile hanging above the door. We were able to get a table without reservation around 1900 on a Friday which was very surprising to us. Since we were tourists and didn't really plan on eating out in a fancy restaurant, we were probably the most casually dressed but there were no frank objections. We also brought along our almost 10 year old child and there was no objection although we were not sure at all whether or not they would admit him.
Our entire meal took around four hours. From the start the food was exquisite, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere very muted somewhat formal reminding me of a library. Suffice it to say that the atmosphere somehow enforced a 'conversion' of sorts in our child who suddenly became this perfectly well behaved young adult, trying all the foods (including the horseradish filled toasted celery balls in one large bite), and even finishing his meal. His normal modus operandi is to eat peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches or cereal, and he rarely finishes what's on his plate.
So, first the food. We went with the most basic "4 course" meal given our budget. However, the server carefully explained to us that as you increase the number of courses the amount of food is adjusted so that you can accommodate all the dishes. Since none of us are serious food critiques, we felt the 4 course would be sufficient.
As I wrote earlier, from the very start the food was very tasty including bread with homemade butter. The appetizers were also unique, served on what my child called "trees". Each time the food was served appropriately timed between each course. I did deduct a single star because some of the main entries - specifically the meat (wild boar) and the fish (ling fish) were a bit salty for my taste (but perfect according to my wife and son). Otherwise, I have no complaints myself.
The service, besides impeccable, was superb from the front desk to everyone who waited on us (felt like a team of 5 or more people). We felt like royalty dining in the cozy room with only a few tables and a huge mural of a wild scene in the country side which entertained my son a lot during the waits between courses as we digested the meal. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and recommended a pinot noir which my wife loved a lot (we are not serious wine drinkers at all). They even brought the bottle back out for us to take a photo to see if we could get it later. The lady with the cheese carts was also very impressive but I didn't really partake in the cheese tasting - only my wife.
Overall, while very expensive (a once in a life-time experience for us), I felt it was worth the expense given the simple fact that my child appeared to have matured in front of our eyes in this single..experience...rather than dining out.
Edit: As an aside, my wife had to use the rest room just before we left and she reports it was very nice and clean.

The young and motivated team created a pleasant atmosphere from the very beginning, making guests feel instantly at ease. Combined with the stylish ambiance, the restaurant provides a beautiful setting for special occasions.
The cuisine impressed with exceptional dishes,
skillfully prepared and creatively executed. Particularly memorable were the wild morel mushroom, the blue lobster, and the Madagascan vanilla in crystalline form.
A heartfelt thank you to the team and the kitchen staff for their hospitality and the thoughtful gesture on our birthdays. We look forward to returning.

An absolutely incredible experience! For the first time, I felt emotions while enjoying a meal and traveled with every bite. The chef helped me rediscover, and even appreciate, foods I didn't used to like. Each dish is a true work of art, inviting both contemplation and reflection. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant if you're ever in Strasbourg!
