We thoroughly enjoyed a pleasant and relaxing lunch on May 1st. The owner took excellent care of us and answered our questions about wineries to visit in the area. The dishes were delicious and generous. I highly recommend this little restaurant. The duck and fish parmentiers, as well as the duck mousse and snails, were all fresh and homemade.

I went there based on previous reviews, but there's been a change of ownership. The food is no longer refined. It's rushed. Well-made? I'm not so sure. Let's just say mediocre. The shepherd's pie was dry. The desserts were bought from the baker next door and sold for twice the price. Prices are too high for the quality. Would I go back? Never.

Bistro in the center of Saumur. An unpretentious place, like a neighborhood bar, serving traditional home-style cooking. The duck parmentier and the croque monsieur were delicious. The portions are very generous. The manager was very friendly and did her best to communicate with us even though we don't speak French. The food took a little while to arrive, but that was perfectly reasonable considering she was in charge of the bar, the tables, the kitchen… Good value for money.

Ma Boulangerie Banette

03/03/2026: Excellent bakery and pastry shop, very good products; for me, it's the best bread in Saumur, and the same goes for their pastries. The service is pleasant, and they always think of the little ones by giving them a small cream puff, which isn't always the case in bakeries. I highly recommend it.

26/04/2026: Overall, a decent stay with a few points for improvement. The room was spacious and very quiet, which was a plus. However, a major drawback was the bedding: the mattress was very uncomfortable, causing back pain and preventing us from sleeping well. This is especially disappointing given that the establishment advertises quality bedding. The door insulation could also be improved. We were also surprised to find our "Do Not Disturb" sign removed twice by the neighboring room, which was inconvenient. We didn't try the breakfast, but having a kettle in the room was a convenient bonus. In short, a decent stay, but the bedding definitely needs to be replaced.
