La Caravelle sur Villefranche-Sur-Mer

The food was excellent, no complaints there, but the attitude of one of the waitresses really ruined our experience. Reading the comments below, I realize that I am not the only one who found his behavior very unpleasant. Maybe it's time for her to question herself. You seem like a very bitter woman, and having such an attitude towards customers who arrive a few minutes late is not the end of the world. It's important to understand that most of your customers are tourists and we are not local, so it may have taken us a while to find the restaurant. Additionally, this is one of the few restaurants I have seen refuse to accommodate a baby. According to her, I should have specified in my reservation that there would be a baby. I didn't know that a 4 month old baby needed a special mention, especially since she doesn't eat anything. She made a big deal about the stroller. She was just trying to get into conflict with us and make a big deal out of everything. When my mother suggested that she remove a chair so we could place the stroller, she didn't know what to say because she had no intention of accommodating us or finding a solution. As new parents, it has become rare for us to be able to go out to restaurants. This was one of the first times we allowed ourselves to do this, and I appreciate you ruining our experience just because you were frustrated with us being late.

We had made a reservation well in advance but were seated at the top of a line of steps with a lot of non-diners at our shoulders as we ate. Our main course was very slow, we found out later that our server had slipped & dropped our plates, but would've been better to be made aware of this sooner rather than waiting & wondering. There were a number of tables between us & where the servers exited the restaurant & started up the steps so it seemed each time anyone came to us it was because no other table needed anything! The food was really good though & the staff really nice, maybe they were just over stretched that night so happy to give benefit of the doubt

Everything about our dinner was amazing. We are in our last country of our honeymoon and this restaurant has been one of the best yet. Highly recommend! The service and food were phenomenal. Our table had a view of the ocean, village and their wine cellar it was perfect.

Tasty French food. The glass of Chardonnay tasted more like a Sauvignon Blanc and was not good. When booking for two ask to have a table away from the outside AC vent - it smelt bad which was very off putting during our meal.

Delicious and well-presented authentic French cuisine. Classic dishes but well-executed. Friendly people at the service, we had a great time!

Delicious food! The escargot, duck and the creamy risotto were amazing. The staff was also very friendly and were helpful with choosing a wine. Very nice atmosphere as well.

The cuisine was excellent, French Mediterranean and traditional dishes, what I ate was all cooked well! Average prices.

Outstanding food: my favourite restaurant in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Lovely octopus starter and excellent lamb loin main. Very good service. I can highly recommend.

Such a lovely dinner. A quaint restaurant in the beautiful alleys of the village near the harbor. Wonderful, kind service, mouth-watering French cuisine. The short rib and duck were fabulous. The crème brûlées was the best. Would definitely come back.
