Warm welcome, perfect and friendly service. Short menu, home cooking and everything was excellent!

Showing up at 7:30 p.m. with my wife without prior reservation, we were immediately warmly welcomed and directed to one of the rooms to choose our table. The geography of the restaurant, made up of several rooms, ensures a calm atmosphere despite the crowds. The dishes are tasty, copious and beautifully prepared, then served quickly by a friendly team who work together in the interest of the customer, the most experienced servers not hesitating to advise beginners with kindness. In summary, a very pleasant experience, which I can only recommend to those who pass through Fontevraud!

An essential address with value for money

Repas en famille après la visite de l'abbaye, le restaurant est juste en face. Nous avons déjeuné en terrasse, c'était très agréable. Les serveurs sont très gentils et nous avons très bien mangé et, en plus, avons goûté des spécialités régionales.

Without reservations, we had lunch on August 15th indoors. Freshness of the dishes (mussels, Caesar salad and ravioli) and very pleasant service. Lovely staff. Beautiful address to discover!

A beautiful place not to be missed. The atmosphere is cozy and the decoration is very in harmony with the abbey next door which we visited and which I also recommend. The welcome is smiling and friendly. The manager offers us a table in the shade under the porch. There are several small terraces in the shade behind the restaurant but on August 15 there are people and it is almost 2 p.m. The service is fast and efficient. The cuisine is simple but delicious. Finally, Belgian fries with beef breast. The beef tartare prepared with a knife is perfectly seasoned. The desserts are extraordinary. The rum baba is served in a very tasty light syrup flavored with cinnamon and star anise (subtle) and the bottle of rum is left on the table to spice up the baba a little more. The yuzu cheesecake is a delight and finally the espresso coffees complete the quality of the dishes served during lunch. In terms of value for money, it is reasonable. 76€ for two with a glass of white wine and two halves of beer. I recommend this place for a pleasant lunch break from every point of view. We will definitely come back for lunch and spend a night at the hotel which is right next door. Thank you to your entire team and continue in this direction, you have understood everything.
