22/03/2024: Passing through Montlucon twice a week, I love stopping for lunch in this friendly, cozy place. Always friendly waitresses and a caring manager. The place is not big but it is enough to have a breakfast in complete peace of mind. A place really different from the other sites in Montluçon visited a few times before finding this place: we appreciate the cleanliness of the place and the public.

29/09/2023: I stopped at La Taverne in Place Marcel Sauvaire, initially for a Café espresso after my ride through the local gorge. I liked the ambience and the view so I decided to stay for lunch. The menu is extensive with many choices, including 17 different pizza options. I chose the Spéciale. It was too much for me, so I only ate half, and they wrapped the other half in alfoil for me I recommend trying the spicy piment cardomame oil on your pizza. I then had a dessert. The dessert menu also has many options. I decided on the Sodade du cap vert. It was delicious. My waiter Gilles was patient with me due to my poor French pronunciation and brought me an Anglais menu, and spoke in English with me. He was attentive, but not too present.

30/03/2024: Nice place in the city center, opposite La Poste de Vichy. Generous, warm cuisine. Dynamic team attentive to all customers. Large sunny terrace, far from cars, small adjacent room which can accommodate additional customers if necessary. Thursday: remember to make a reservation, it's "couscous". There are also frog legs displayed on the map. Delicious ice creams and, in particular, a remarkable tangerine sorbet. Absolutely worth visiting - also - for the quality of their coffee: aroma, flavor, at the right temperature and always served with a smile!

Now if I have to choose, perhaps the best thing is dessert, an exceptional brioche perdue. The owner is very helpful and friendly and also offers an invitation to coffee and the latest wine. If you are near Moulins don't hesitate

16/03/2024: On paper this experience could have been interesting given the setting, but the service is interminably long for a very simple dinner to prepare. The boss is only putting on a good face, that’s all. Heartbreaking culinary experience.

07/01/2024: Practical and simple, complete card, good for watching sports broadcasts or cooling off near the Allier. The only downside is that I noticed several times that the cocktails were drowned in sugar, but otherwise it's still a place that I highly recommend!
