25/02/2026: Hello, I had the pleasure of participating in a discovery afternoon at Patapain, located at 2 Route de Villebret in Montluçon. In two hours, we made bread, brioches, apple turnovers, raspberry tarts, and much more. It was a very enriching experience. Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly, smiling, and efficient. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. You can eat at any time, and it's open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Well done! Plus, there's a private parking lot, blue short-term parking spaces, and a large parking lot across the street. Everything you could want, in short. 16/11/2025: Disappointed, there really wasn't much to eat on the pizza; the cheese raclette crust didn't taste like it.

27/02/2026: I had breakfast after a blood test. A large hot chocolate and small brioches. And cream puffs for the road. Everything was very good. Upstairs there's a large, very pleasant room overlooking the boulevard. It's very nice to have breakfast there.

25/02/2026: Well, I can't say if the food is good, since after 20 minutes, nobody paid me any attention, so I'll continue to cultivate my gift of invisibility. Maybe another time...

04/02/2026: A great brasserie by the train station. Good daily specials, very good coffee. If you're looking for a sunny terrace in Montluçon, Brasserie de la Gare has one. We'll be back.

14/03/2026: The service was a bit rushed in the evening; when you're having a meal with friends, it's a bit annoying to have to rush.

09/03/2026: Nice bar/restaurant. Apparently the food is excellent. The owner is a good cook.

03/01/2026: Very nice historical setting, table for 8. Personally, I had an octopus salad as a starter which was quite good but a little too vinegary, a bavette steak as a main course which was very successful, and a first chocolate mousse with the egg white not whipped enough. They brought me another one with apologies which was very successful.

25/03/2026: I stayed for two nights last week on an overnight package: dinner, bed, and breakfast. I had an accessible room, which was quite large, but when you shower, you get water everywhere because there's no shower screen or tray. At night, the hallway light stays on, and the light shines under the door, so I had to use a towel to block it (see photos). As for the restaurants, I tried both the fine dining option and the bistro. There was no difference, except for the price. I also ate very well at the bistro. The waiter was friendly. Breakfast was fine, with fresh pastries and plenty of space. When booking, ask beforehand if you mind having an accessible room. There's a paid parking lot in front of the hotel during the day; the adjacent streets are free, but you have to find a spot. Other than that, I had a good stay.

22/03/2026: 4 stars because breakfast is quite expensive for the limited selection. (We were there at the end of service, so perhaps that explains it.)

18/02/2026: Meh, it was very cold but the door was often left open by a drunk; the staff didn't say anything, so I intervened twice.
