07/03/2026: The meal was excellent; the different flavors blended beautifully. The smoked meats (and fish) enhanced the dishes wonderfully. We weren't particularly fond of one of the cocktails, but the house rum punch was delicious. We received a warm welcome; the waitress took the time to explain each dish in detail, and the chef had a kind word for every customer, which was much appreciated. Our first time there, but certainly not our last.

26/02/2026: Honestly, the service was incredibly fast, the quality was amazing, and I loved the flavors. I ordered the rice in broth (it was to die for), the chicken (incredibly good), the yassa sauce (magnificent), and the side dish with tomatoes (even that was delicious). And the chili: I love a bit of heat, and this was seriously hot, I almost cried 😂 but I loved it. P.S.: Even the ginger candy that came with the dish was excellent XD

08/02/2026: I am an American wandering the streets of Paris. One of the interesting things I discovered, which shouldn't be a surprise, but Paris has ethnic neighborhoods (again, just like every other big city). As I was wandering I started to notice quite a few African-themed restaurants. Obviously France did more than their share of colonization, including Africa, so this shouldn't be a surprise. ANYWAY. I have not had a lot of exposure of African cuisine and I figured I might as well stop and have something. So I stopped at Osé African Cuisine. I would classify Osé as a fast-casual restaurant. A number of bowl options (including S/M/L options) and some sides. I only needed a snack, so I ordered the Alloko, which are basically plantain fries. They are very good. Kind of blackened and carmalizes. And they came with 3 dipping sauces. Red, green, and yellow. Just understand that yellow is the HOT one. I'm not scurred of hot sauces in general. The yellow is delicious, but legit hot. Nose running hot. Green and red are good, but I kept on going back to the yellow and punishing myself. Anyhoo. Give African cuisine a try. And if you're around Osé, give them a shot.

17/02/2026: Fantastic little pub, we stayed nearby for a week and found ourself back in there most nights. The two times we ate there the food was brilliant. By far it's the staff that make this pub the gem it is, so friendly and accommodating they were more than helpful each time. I wish I had gotten their names as it was the same two men each time we were in and they were brilliant

11/03/2026: This restaurant was a pleasant surprise we stumbled upon after wandering around Old Lille looking for a place to eat. The highlight, in my opinion, was the cocktails. The bartender has an incredible knack for them, and it was definitely one of the best cocktails I've had in Lille. I'm not very familiar with Brazilian food, so I didn't know what to expect, but the dishes were quite good. The prices, of course, are higher than average for restaurants not located in Old Lille. The decor is very original and immerses you in the Brazilian atmosphere. The restaurant is also very quiet, making it easy to chat and have a conversation without being disturbed. It's worth noting, however, that the restaurant is relatively small to medium-sized, and it's best to book a table in advance. It's a restaurant I highly recommend.

This refreshing establishment offers delicious and generous portions of food, with authentic flavors and genuine quality in its preparation. 08/07/2025: Very good guacamole, excellent chicha morada! But disappointed by the spiced quinoa, which lacked flavor, depth, and quantity. Excellent panna cotta. The service was very good, warm, and the servers were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and decor were very pleasant. I highly recommend it!

13/03/2026: An absolutely incredible address in Paris! Chez Trassoudaine is an authentic restaurant where you immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with charming decor and a family feel that makes the experience truly unique. The food is simply excellent. The meats are of remarkable quality, perfectly cooked, and accompanied by delicious potatoes sautéed in goose fat. Everything is homemade, and you can taste it in every bite. The service also deserves 5 stars: a genuine welcome, a passionate owner, and real generosity in the way customers are received. You'll have a wonderful time, whether with friends, family, or for a special occasion. A true institution in the 13th arrondissement, where tradition, good food, and conviviality come together. An address I wholeheartedly recommend and where I will definitely return!

05/07/2025: Café Créole is absolutely my favorite place in Paris. Whether you go simply for an aperitif or for dinner, you can't help but be captivated by it. The atmosphere is wonderfully pleasant, carefully crafted in every detail without being excessive. It offers fantastic happy hour options, particularly those paired with their famous tapas. The Caribbean Creole cuisine is a journey of taste experiences, and Café Créole accomplishes this magnificently. The food is sublime. The service is excellent, on par with a high-end restaurant - kind, friendly, and engaging. A special mention goes to the maître de salle and manager of the establishment who, with his charm and affability, makes this café-restaurant even more unique and exclusive. He told me his name is "Mad," but I believe it's more of a nickname that perfectly aligns with his quirky and cheerful personality. Don't miss the rum selection at the end of your meal, another gem worth trying.
