30/11/2025: Thanks again to Ugo (without the H), our waiter, who still managed to make us incredibly delicious and decadent ice creams even though it was 10:30 pm!!! Top-notch service! We highly recommend it!!

For a table of 12, we received a very warm welcome. The waitress was very kind, pleasant, and accommodating with the children.

Les desserts sont faits maison ! les profiteroles et crème brulée : un délice ! Prix "normal" pour la qualité demandée : Poulet au maroilles 16.80 €..... crème brulée 5.50. Frites maison également ! Nous y retournerons : il vaut mieux réserver !
14/11/2024: We had a lovely lunch at La Taverne De Duchenot today for my partners birthday.
When we arrived it was just after midday and it was nice to see lots of locals enjoying lunch.
Both of the waiters that served us were extremely polite and their English was very good.
We both chose the lunchtime offer of 3 courses from a set menu for €21.90.
The charcuterie board starter was very nice and the steak with shallot sauce was also excellent.
The dessert choices were chocolate mousse or cafe gourmand. We both chose the cafe gourmand and it was delicious.
Overall we had a very pleasant lunch and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Saint-Omer.

12/12/2025: This hotel gave us a very good mini break for the December Calais markets. We are both immobile (wife in a wheelchair) and the accessible room was good. i am always keen to leave feedback on disability issues.Breakfast was great - unlike some hotels they kept a hawk-like eye on what needed topping up! Staff were always friendly and helpful when we were coping with our mobility. Not a UK 4 star, but I think Fr. standards are more relaxed.

16/12/2025: You should learn the laws in France before speaking.
A shopkeeper who complains because the "short-term" parking space in front of his establishment is taken, when he would have liked to use it, cannot claim ownership of it.
In this case, you shouldn't come during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Don't hesitate to call the police station to find out what is and isn't allowed: the space doesn't belong to you and is limited to 30 minutes, whether you like it or not.
Learn a little respect.
It's a good thing I wasn't there; it's easy to harass a woman when there are two of you (I imagine the other person must have been your daughter).
08/12/2025: A pretty good kebab (too little sauce). We're regulars and eat in or take away. The dining area is a bit cramped and cold, but the furniture is nice and the chairs are comfortable.

13/11/2025: Passing through the Pas-de-Calais region, I didn't know where to eat, so I checked Google Maps.
Let me tell you, I was very pleasantly surprised! I received the incredibly warm welcome that you'd expect from people from the North! The service was impeccable and they really took care of us... The menu was worthy of a Turkish kebab: hot, generous, and delicious! The negative reviews are just nonsense! I highly recommend it!
11/11/2025: As a taxi driver in the Nord department (59) who often travels around the Lens area, I was pleasantly surprised by this kebab shop. The quality and service were five stars. Dear colleague, I invite you to go and try my famous flatbread and chicken.
