Chalet du Lac Besson

20/02/2026: A wonderful experience at this mountain restaurant. The dishes were excellent and well-prepared, but the real highlight was the service. The servers were truly attentive, helpful, and very friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable. There was a genuinely pleasant atmosphere and a real focus on the customers. I highly recommend this place.
19/02/2026: We love having lunch at Chalet du Lac Basson. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is delicious. We ordered grilled meats: lamb chops, duck, and ribeye steak. They were cooked to perfection and the meats were flavorful. Then we had blueberry tarts and a tarte tatin.
Afterwards, we had to go for a walk to burn off some calories!
A special mention goes to the Grill Master, who is incredibly friendly and always has a great sense of humor, making the experience even more enjoyable and certainly brightening his own day!
We look forward to going back!

20/02/2026: We had an absolutely exceptional time at L’Espérance restaurant.
The service was simply incredible, undoubtedly one of the best I’ve ever experienced. A huge thank you to Youri, Énora, and Justine, who were outstanding from beginning to end.
The dishes were excellent and perfectly executed. The final touches being prepared right in front of us made the experience even more special.
We truly felt Youri’s passion; he doesn’t just serve, he creates a genuine experience. The entire team was incredibly attentive and cared for us with care and kindness throughout the meal.
From start to finish, it was flawless.

19/02/2026: We ate at L’Espérance restaurant last night, and where do I even begin?
It's literally the best restaurant I've ever eaten at; everything was divine!
I would say the same for the service, which was simply exceptional!
We were seated with a magnificent view, and the staff was welcoming, smiling, and attentive—it truly felt like a family atmosphere.
A huge thank you to Justine for her recommendations, to Énora for her time and excellent service, to Marc for his responsiveness, to Lionel and Dave for their good humor, and finally... THANK YOU to Youri for his explanations, his time, and his demonstrations. We learned so much and were delighted to meet someone so passionate and kind! Just wow.
A top-notch team and excellent food! I'm giving it 5 stars because you can't give more!

18/11/2025: The owner is obnoxious, unprofessional, and unpleasant 🤮 in these comments.
Who would explain why not mentioning a missing bottle on the bill would be incomprehensible for a biker (considering the price of Harleys!!)?
However, the waitress "offered" digestifs, only to charge us up to €9 for them... left us with a bad taste in our mouths and we won't be going back.
However, the food is good.
22/08/2025: A real precious gem. Out for one night in the labyrinth that is Alpe d’Huez, you want to experience something special, but be really comforted rather than shocked.
Well presented, plentiful and delicious dishes.
Lucky the waitress spoke some English, because our French was quite stretched by the Menu… Ordered a mix of steak and chips, plat du jour (chicken vol-au-vent), pasta, fish and chips and something different, which became my highlight as the mum who cooks at home and could use a break: the tataki de thon, now in my all-time top-2 dishes!
Choice of desserts: mix of unusual and mainstream, just what you want for a special night.
Welcoming host, the type of human you feel you could be friends with - not to be taken for granted in this day and age.
Wish we went back to try the other things on the menu.

28/08/2024: Disappointing experience with the mountain salad for €15, there are 4 sticks of cheese placed on 1 slice of raw ham in pieces…
26/08/2024: A big plus for the appetizer which was hummus. Bravo for the initiative.
Be careful with the other dishes, however: the pasta had no taste and was overcooked while the chocolate cake was overcooked inside.
The service was good otherwise.

Autant pour l'ambiance que pour la gentillesse des patrons et du personnel.
Le lieu est propice aux bons souvenirs et aux rigolades
A tester absolument : le toboggan qui vous amène aux toilettes !!!
25/03/2024: Bar horrible, personnel pas sympathique du tout, surtout le patron, certainement homophobe et raciste. Les consos sont aussi à un prix exorbitant.
