21/10/2026: Top-notch chef, sublime and delicious meal!

13/10/2026: I found this restaurant to be excellent.I had the large rump rose 300 g and my wife had a small beef, which came with steak french fries salad and bread. The french fries were interesting. I would call them Canoe french fries. They’re kind of hollowed out in the middle and deep fried. I’ve attached a picture of the fries you may have to blow them up to see the end of the fry to show the scalloping affect. The waitress did not speak English, but she was friendly. We work it out with pictures as to how we liked our steak cooked and it was prepared perfectly. I travel a lot in Europe and have been going through Europe, including Milan and Switzerland, the last four months. This is the best steak I’ve had this Trip anywhere. After the meal was over, I met the owner when I left he was excellent and friendly. He asked me to come back and I intend to go back today as I had this lunch yesterday and will try something else on his menu. The restaurant was very clean with the inside and outside sitting. My wife and I felt very safe, walking there and back from the MERCURE hotel. The prices were reasonable in the food was a very high-quality.

20/10/2026: We had a simple but well-executed dinner. The food arrived hot and shortly after ordering. The place wasn't crowded, and there was good background music at a comfortable volume; something that's not easy to find, unfortunately. The wine served by the glass was good. The only downside, as usual, was the lack of an English menu, for tourists; but that seems to be impossible to find in France.

01/10/2026: This is our second visit and we're not disappointed! A warm and discreet welcome, refined and varied cuisine. It's home-style cooking in a neighborhood restaurant that we're so glad to have. The chef goes the extra mile to feed his customers well, and we appreciate that! Don't hesitate!

20/08/2026: A Wednesday evening with friends after the solar eclipse of August 12, 2026. We were warmly welcomed and seated quickly without a reservation. Our order was taken promptly, but there was a long wait for our food. The grill was done right in front of us. The meat was of good quality and the portions were generous. The free-range chicken was excellent, and the homemade sauces were delicious. It's a shame the fries weren't homemade. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with a rustic decor. The staff were pleasant and smiling. I recommend it.

09/08/2026: Great place, excellent restaurant! No frills... the food is perfect and kudos to the cooks, meat cooked to perfection and the sauces excellent, we would have loved to go back for more.

12/10/2026: It's a shame I can't give zero stars! We stopped at this rest area on Sunday, October 11, 2026, around 7:15 p.m., to get something to eat. I was particularly shocked by the reception we received and the overall state of the place. When we asked the waitress at the restaurant if we could eat, she replied in an extremely unpleasant manner: "We're not serving anymore, it's 7:30 p.m.!" Except it was only 7:15 p.m.! The reception was simply unacceptable. Madam, if you no longer enjoy your job, perhaps it's time to consider something else instead of treating customers this way! And what about the toilets? They were absolutely disgustingly filthy, enough to make you vomit! It's shameful for a rest area that's supposed to welcome travelers in decent conditions. It's high time you took action and did what's necessary, both regarding customer service and the cleanliness of the restrooms. People who stop at your rest area deserve a minimum of respect and hygiene. A deplorable experience. I absolutely do not recommend this rest area in its current state!

11/10/2026: I gave it one star because I couldn't give zero. We arrived at 7:20 PM to eat after a long car journey, only to be very curtly informed that the restaurant closed at 7:30 PM... We were speechless! First, because of the unpleasant welcome, and then because there was no food available. This was followed by a visit to the restrooms... which were not clean at all! In short... a bad experience that we won't be repeating. It's a shame because Pokawa is a nice franchise.

10/05/2026: Discovered by chance during a romantic trip to Burgundy. The service and welcome were excellent, the beef bourguignon and pork chop were exceptional, and the blueberry and apple crumble tartlet was to die for.

09/05/2026: The wait between the starter and the main course was far too long—40 minutes! We should have left, which we did right after the main course. We had chosen the Chicken Gaston Gérard, which was very bland and tasteless, with a very runny sauce and the vegetables barely lukewarm. It's a shame, as the poached egg in red wine sauce had been good. We were very, very disappointed. €92 for two aperitifs, one glass of wine, two poached eggs in red wine sauce, and two chicken dishes. I chose this place for a special occasion, because of the character of the walls and the village setting. We should have left when the wait became so long, ruining the experience. All we had to do was listen to the rather loud music. It's a shame there's such a staff shortage and that recruitment is difficult, according to the pleasant owner. Everything is there to make it a lovely place.
