04/03/2026: The setting was exceptional, no complaints there, and the service was friendly. But personally, I found the dish bland; the salmon en papillote was truly unremarkable, which was a shame.

The food arrived cold and inedible.
No apology, no compensation.
What a letdown.

04/02/2026: Came on a Wednesday morning in February 2026. Very quiet with three other tables having drinks. Cute square near Notre Dame. I got a café allongé which was very reasonable - 2€. They had seating outside. They sell tobacco etc. Service was reasonable.

18/11/2025: A dream location for this private beach situated at the beginning of the Kennedy Corniche. However, the place needs some maintenance, especially the very rusty metalwork. Sun lounger prices are quite high outside of peak season, and the owner isn't very friendly... But hey, the view quickly makes you forget all that!
14/10/2025: Avoid!!! Terrible service and very, very mediocre pizzas. What a shame for such a beautiful place.

19/01/2026: I booked a table for eight at La Velada two weeks in advance for a birthday celebration. We ordered food and cocktails for almost €400, and at 11:30 PM, just as the party was starting to get going, they kicked us out of the table to make room for another group! This is unacceptable! The least they could do is warn us in advance that the table could be given away at any moment, because we were left out in the cold before the party had even started! Avoid this place, especially for a birthday! What's more, they didn't hesitate to film us during the evening and put it on their social media, even though we were kicked out afterward!
08/01/2026: First time at La Velada for my friends and me. A very pleasant surprise, especially the wood-fired pizza which was excellent. A superb atmosphere in this lively restaurant – we'll be back very soon!

having been to this place before, I feel compelled to offer my opinion: the saleswomen are particularly unfriendly, their pizzas are undercooked, and their prices are excessive.
07/01/2026: The frangipane galette des rois was completely tasteless, with absolutely no flavor… It tasted just like pastry cream without any almonds.
On top of that, I asked the saleswoman for a crown, and she didn't tell me there was no trinket inside the galette 😩 (it wasn't the smallest size, but the one for four people!!). So, a small galette des rois for €12 with no flavor or trinket is really quite disappointing.

27/08/2024: The food is very unique and delicious, suitable for people with all kinds of tastes. Unfortunately, it is in the alley and there is not a lot of customer traffic, but I think the food here is really delicious!
24/08/2024: I walked past this place on a side street on my way to a day tour and crossed my fingers they would have a spot for dinner. They did, and it was a welcome respite from the noise and busyness of Marseille. And the food was spectacular!

26/12/2023: i have been to this restraunt now many times, and every times it’s been great. I’m sad to see they even have bad reviews, there is normally always one waiter, they can not serve every person at once so yes it takes a bit of time, but they are still extremely nice and helpful! i never found them rude. The food is amazing, the drinks are amazing, and the restaurant itself inside is very cute. I don’t think they deserve any bad reviews!!! thank you for always being amazing will keep coming back

06/09/2024: 10h du matin, j'avais RV pas loin et 1/2 heure d'avance, je m'assois en terrasse pour déguster un petit café, savourer un instant de tranquillité au bord du port.
Sur la table (sale), un cendrier plein.
A 5 mètres, 2 serveurs papotent.
10mn s'écoulent.
Les serveurs entre temps ont disparu.
Je rentre dans le resto et vais demander au bar un café (+ bonjour, s'il vous plait, merci.)
Réponse: "on vous l'amène"
Les serveurs réapparaissent sur la terrasse et recommencent à papoter.
Toujours pas de café à l'horizon.
Au bout de 15mn, je me lève et je pars.
Il semblerait que ce jour-là je sois devenue invisible, sans le faire exprès :)
Quel dommage que ce genre d'établissement le long du port donne une image si pitoyable de notre belle ville de Marseille.
Faites donc un stage au Mac Do, il vous apprendront les bases de la restauration et de tous commerces en général : Accueil, politesse, hygiène, service.
29/08/2024: This restaurant provides a place to dine outside with sufficient coverage and seating. The tables are larger than found at other restaurants along the waterfront, and table linens are even provided. Our waiter was prompt and courteous. He had the muscles and I had the prawns. Both dishes were delicious, served hot, and good sized portions. Would definitely recommend this place.

26/05/2024: Despite the goodwill of the young people at the service, the quality/price ratio is very unbalanced. A plate of asparagus with a summary presentation and no visual or taste interest. A less than warm sea bass fillet and more than approximate cooking. All accompanied by an ordinary porquerolle rosé for an addition of…….140€ for 2! Now it's up to you to form your opinion.
