10/07/2026: We stumbled upon this crêperie and were absolutely delighted. The service was friendly and quick, the crêpes were high quality and generous, the local cider was excellent, and the place was spotless. I highly recommend this establishment and we will definitely be back.

11/08/2026: We had a delicious meal last Sunday. As usual, we asked beforehand how it works. First of all, you are supposed to get your own bread from the baker. Then you go and look around and discuss what you want with the fishmongers. The prices are listed in kg, so you can quickly calculate the cost. We had 12 oysters for 21 euros. Try getting that in the Netherlands. At least 3.50 euros apiece. Delicious! The other seafood is so fresh and tasty that it is definitely worth the money. When you look at the restaurants in the area around Chez Allain, the prices there are much higher. In short, we had a delicious lunch. By the way, the glasses of wine they serve are 15cl for 7 euros; at the average restaurant, this is 7 euros for 10cl. If you happen to be in the area on Sunday, go over to the market first and then have lunch at Chez Allain or one of its neighbors.

01/08/2026: Excellent!!! Top-notch staff. To improve the seafood platter eaten on-site, a few slices of bread with butter would be perfect! Otherwise, don't change a thing, the products are excellent.

14/07/2026: Excellent restaurant despite the impressive number of customers to serve simultaneously, but the servers are up to the task! The fish sauerkraut is particularly original and excellent! In short, a well-established restaurant that has stood the test of time, as it's practically an institution! It's up to the current managers to maintain the restaurant's originality... this type of restaurant is becoming increasingly rare!

25/07/2026: We had a very bad experience from the moment we arrived at Le Vieux Normand in Trouville-sur-Mer. We arrived as a family hoping to get a table. Before we could even be seated, a waiter addressed my mother in a particularly curt tone, twice telling her to "move out of the way." The way he said it made us all very uncomfortable and gave us the feeling that we were not welcome. Faced with this reception, we decided to leave the restaurant without having lunch. After this experience, I noticed that other customers also mentioned problems with the service in their Google reviews, which echoes what we personally experienced. I hope that management will take this feedback seriously, because courteous service is essential and should not depend on circumstances.

24/07/2026: The galettes were generously filled and the service was quick despite us not having a reservation. However, I got the impression the waiter was just trying to get rid of us.

06/08/2026: Delicious and flavorful dishes. Pleasant and peaceful surroundings, it's always a treat to go there!

22/07/2026: Good quality, but be careful when paying for the hearing aid; mine was charged an extra 12 Euros, supposedly a mistake by the cashier.

22/07/2026: I do not recommend this restaurant. Completely unprofessional and barely friendly. I had to ask for the same thing 15 times because they don't remember anything. They know nothing about the business, yet they think they're professionals. Goodbye. The only slight downside was the view of the beach and the sunset, which wasn't bad.

08/08/2026: No complaints. Nice waffles at a fair price (rare in the area) with a great view.

04/08/2026: It took a very long time to be served. The staff were extremely unfriendly. They didn't understand our orders at all. The crepes were undercooked. Avoid this place.

02/08/2026: We come here once a year when we're in Trouville! Perfect location right on the seafront, the service is very efficient, especially with the children's menus which are served quickly. The restaurant no longer takes reservations, so it's best to arrive in advance, but last time, with a party of 10, we got seats quite easily at 12:30 pm. I highly recommend this place!

27/07/2026: Beachfront location, generous menu, and the dishes are equally generous (we only tried the fish). Efficient and cheerful service. Good value for money.

31/07/2026: We've been twice in the space of a week. The food is fresh, tasty, decent portion size and hot. We went post 8:30pm one night and arrived at 7pm the other - both times we were seated immediately. I would suggest making reservation though. Price wise, in comparison to other restaurants in Trouville, it is middle of the range, but I would not say it is expensive at all. Forgot to snap some shots before we started eating but we had orange chicken, caramel pork, veggie fried rice, beef noodles, and broccoli. Would recommend. Service is a bit hit and miss but not rude. Additionally, cleanest bathrooms in Trouville - that always indicates a spotless kitchen to me.

30/07/2026: Disappointed that we came with an adult, a large child and a baby, and were refused a stroller – this is unacceptable!

I've read some of the comments, and I wonder how anyone can nitpick such minor details when faced with exceptional quality and selection of products, perfect cooking, and service that is both warm and professional. A huge thank you to everyone! 🫶

27/05/2026: I came to spend a few days in Deauville with my family, and we decided to buy a carton of fish soup to take with us up north. However, we noticed a strong smell in the car. We weren't paying attention, but they sold us open jars. That's how you end up throwing away a carton of six soups. What a rip-off!
