The cuisine is delicious, ranging from perfectly executed Burgundian classics (excellent pâté en croûte) to more modern touches that add a great deal of finesse. The service is attentive, friendly, and very pleasant.
The wine list is remarkable: extensive, well-rounded, with a readily available sommelier who provides excellent recommendations.
In short, a wonderful experience, a must-visit in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
16/11/2025: We booked this restaurant at the last minute without knowing anything about it. It was a wonderful experience. Not only was everything delicious, but the service was also top-notch. We were a group of six, and everyone agreed. The venison was incredibly tender. The beef bourguignon was excellent and perfectly cooked. The eggs in white wine sauce were a delightful discovery.
The staff were attentive and charming. Well done!
I highly recommend it.

28/11/2025: I wandered into this place on a grey, rainy November afternoon in Nuits-Saint-Georges and instantly liked it.
Inside, it’s warm and quiet. A cosy tea room with a surprisingly rich selection of teas served in proper kettles instead of cheap bags. Simple, artisanal, and exactly what you want when the weather turns. The staff were friendly, the kind who make you feel like you’ve been here before.
Parking right at the door is a pain, but a larger lot is five minutes away, so no drama.
If you’re following the Grand Cru route and need a break from wine, this spot works beautifully. Honey, teas, sweets to enjoy on the spot or take home, plus a calm corner to breathe. I’d happily return, especially on a cold day 👍

12/07/2024: Very nice staff, spontaneous and nice welcome. We stayed here on our way back home. Countless better experience than the hotels of “the big chains” along the highway. We had an extra day of vacation!
03/07/2024: Very warm welcome, simple but comfortable room, decent bathroom and separate toilet
.We have gotten into the habit of stopping there on our vacation route, the little town is very pleasant. Just a shame that the restaurant is closed, but there is a choice of restaurants around.

04/07/2024: Attente très longue et il n'y avait plus de crémant erreur sur la note et le serveur refuse que l'on règle par carte il nous dit qu'on lui fait perdre son temps et demande que l'on retire de l'argent en espèce...à fuir très désagréable

Bar which serves very good beers and wines with Simon and his boss who take great care of their customers.
I highly recommend this place if you have the opportunity to stop for a little music break.

Bonne musique ( blues, rock, funk)
Piano accordé et serveur et patron sympas.

26/08/2024: Lovely little French hotel in excellent situation for town centre and easy access to motorway.
Newly refurbished bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. Spotlessly clean.
Excellent value for money. Only drawback is the charming spiral staircase to each floor.
Good wholesome food in restaurant and excellent breakfast.
Very pleasant and helpful owner and staff.
We have visited twice and would thoroughly recommend L’Etoile.
22/07/2024: A pity we couldn’t eat here. The menu and the prices looked all right, but we were turned down in a very unwelcoming way… being snapped at in English (while French is our first and second language), is not the right way to approach potential customers. (Especially if there are plenty of free tables inside )
Turning people down is also possible in a polite and respectful way.

06/06/2024: Nous reviendrons dans ce petit très sympathique même si la déception a été grande pour ceux qui ont choisi le plat du jour …. Des pâtes pesto courgettes archi cuites complètement molles quasi immangeables ! Je vous conseille les pizzas !
26/05/2024: J'ai pris la suggestion du jour, pâtes sauce courgette pesto et courgettes grillées, brebis râpé. La sauce était très bonne mais les pâtes beaucoup trop cuites, très molles, et 20€ pour ce plat qui doit avoir un prix de revient de 3€😱
