27/02/2026: Hiking from Bidart to St Jean-de-Luz, I was so happy to find this bar open on February 26th, under summer-like weather! A very warm welcome, a fantastic location with a breathtaking sea view, and excellent food (special mention for the red berry panna cotta). I promised to leave a (good) review... and here it is!
22/02/2026: A disappointing experience from start to finish.
There were two of us, and we arrived at 1:10 PM. We were told there would be a 20-minute wait; after 40 minutes, I had to remind them we were still there. We were finally seated.
Another 25 minutes passed before anyone took our order. The appetizer arrived quickly, but then… more than 40 minutes of waiting without ever seeing the main course.
We decided to leave and made our dissatisfaction known while paying for our appetizers and drinks. No apology, no consideration whatsoever, and to top it all off, a member of staff called me an “idiot.”
I understand they were busy… but still!
Lack of organization, a complete absence of professionalism, and unacceptable behavior from some staff members.
Truly disappointed!

15/02/2026: The Corsair side is well-deserved thanks to its truly successful decor. As for the Pub side, opt for Happy Hour, as in the evening it's more of a trendy bar than a true pub.

12/08/2025: What a pleasure it was to eat at this place. We greatly appreciated the welcome every time we came. The announcement of the restaurant's closure was a real heartbreak. It will be very difficult to find such a charming restaurant with such good value for money.
Happy retirement, chef, and see you soon.

07/02/2026: We wanted to treat ourselves and bought a Basque cherry cake (serves 6), and what a disappointment!
The cake was dry (probably not fresh), and above all, far, far too sweet, to the point that we won't be able to finish it.
Really very disappointed, what a shame.
03/02/2026: An individual Basque cake that was several days old: the pastry had separated from the cream, leaving only a dry layer of cream. I threw it away. The vendor, barely polite, told me that yes, cakes can be made the day before. But a Basque cake doesn't look anything like it did the day before, or even two days before. Luckily, there are other places besides Paries, whose reputation has really taken a nosedive.

24/01/2026: Pleasantly surprised by the €20 set menu, the quality was excellent. A starter, main course, and dessert – that's becoming increasingly rare at this price.
We had lunch for under €60 for two, including an aperitif, a carafe of wine, and a coffee.
02/01/2026: Lacking space at other restaurants, we walked through the door of this establishment on Friday, January 2nd, at 1:30 PM. The seating was quick, the order was taken, and the food arrived promptly. That's where the positives end...
As for the rest, the sangria was flavorless, the salad poorly seasoned, the paella had white rice, and the Basque chicken had no sauce. Oh yes, I almost forgot, the portions were tiny! We left hungry and with a bad meal. An experience to forget and definitely not to repeat!

Surprise comme quoi il ne faut pas toujours faire attention aux avis trop négatifs on y a mangé une délicieuse paella. Merci aux serveurs qui y sont vraiment très disponible et jovial.
07/09/2024: Tout bien ! Continuez comme ça ! Cuisine Basque traditionnelle, produits du terroir, bon rapport qualité /prix, service sympa. On reviendra.
