04/07/2026: Everything was amazing. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. As Spaniards, we were a bit lost about where to eat, and it was definitely worth stopping here. Thank you so much to the whole team for the wonderful service and the amazing food.
03/07/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant. The service was very friendly, even though we arrived late. They didn't rush us. They were also very welcoming to our baby.
We enjoyed our meal.

07/07/2026: A really nice spot right on the oceanfront.
In the height of summer, it must be packed! You can eat at a counter overlooking the sea. It's simply fantastic!
The welcome is very warm and the staff are super friendly.
The food is simple and delicious; they even have hamburgers for those who love them! Tapas too...
The Eguzki beer is amazing... No wonder, it's a Basque beer...
It's accessible for people with reduced mobility.
And on top of that, there's music and a great atmosphere!
The prices are very reasonable. So, I definitely recommend "Le Bistro du Mata" if you're looking for a nice place to have lunch while taking the time to unwind in an idyllic setting.
06/07/2026: Fantastic location, free parking just steps away, incredible sea view. But what really impressed us was the service and the kindness of all the staff towards both humans and our four-legged companions. What a pleasure! Well done to the whole team, and don't change a thing. The food is just as good, by the way.
Highly recommended!

I remember how kind Sophie and her husband were.
On my way to Spain, I was transporting Renaults and working customs at Machicote's.

22/07/2026: Bad experience. We waited 50 minutes for our food. The servers were unpleasant and unfriendly (except for the young waiter in white). I had asked for my meat to be cooked medium, but after a 50-minute wait, I received meat that was practically raw. I had to ask for it to be cooked again, and even then, it still wasn't cooked. Furthermore, the price was very high for ridiculously small portions, both for the main course and the dessert.

02/08/2026: Average. The service was very slow, 45 minutes between courses. The fries were too dry. The rest was good.
The welcome was good, the staff friendly, but surely overwhelmed.
02/08/2026: We went for the set menu, which costs almost €30, and we were very disappointed. The portion sizes are ridiculous. If you order eggs, they literally serve you a single egg cut in half. If you choose the prawns, they give you only three, just a handful, grilled.
Furthermore, they serve tap water, which is surprising considering the price of the set menu. The second course was slightly better in terms of quantity, but the food arrived burnt, which only worsened the experience.
In short, very poor value for money. For almost €30, I expected a generous and well-prepared meal, not to leave feeling like I'd paid a lot for very little and very bad food. A rather disappointing experience.

Surprise comme quoi il ne faut pas toujours faire attention aux avis trop négatifs on y a mangé une délicieuse paella. Merci aux serveurs qui y sont vraiment très disponible et jovial.
07/09/2024: Tout bien ! Continuez comme ça ! Cuisine Basque traditionnelle, produits du terroir, bon rapport qualité /prix, service sympa. On reviendra.
