27/10/2025: Stopped here for lunch with 3 adults without a reservation. No menu, only fish and chips, no starter. Three different small pieces of cheese. Only dessert, a cone. In total, 3 fish and chips, 2 cheeses, and 1 dessert for the sum of 49.85 euros. That's about 17 euros per person. Many restaurants offer a full menu for the same price.

21/09/2025: We stayed last week. Excellent welcome. No menu, which would have been a plus, but we ate very well. The owners were very attentive. Quiet location. Parking right across the street. The room was perfectly adequate and clean. A little more light in it would have been great. I highly recommend it, and if we return to the area, we will definitely stay here again.

24/08/2024: Très bel accueil. Conseils avisés sur les vins. Les serveurs savent s'adapter à la clientèle. A l'écoute, souriants. De belles découvertes gustatives (tataki de taureau). Plats beaux, bons et copieux. Cosy. Je recommande vivement si vous voulez passer un bon moment et vous régaler.

21/08/2024: Bon accueil, cadre agréable et plats intéressants. Le poulpe était particulièrement bien cuit, la carte des vins équilibrée. Un petit bémol sur les plats servis pas assez chauds... mais il y avait beaucoup de monde ce jour. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

25/01/2025: This bar is legendary! Glad it's here new on its feet and refurbished. The welcome is warm, the cuisine tasty and the service friendly... Also looking forward to the resumption of Sunday brunches! 💖

23/01/2025: We have just experienced a lunar situation. This had never happened to me in my life in a bar. We stay in the bar for 30 minutes while having two drinks. One of the waiters comes to serve us a cheese board that we hadn't ordered. We thank him warmly for this. After all, a cute puppy had just gone to the bathroom next to our table and was eating his feces to clean up. Thank you for the smell. We then naively thought that this gesture was linked to this astonishing situation. After several minutes, his colleague told him that the board was not for us and told us that we should not have consumed it. We are a little stunned and decide to leave. The waiter asks us to pay for the board and we refuse. He tells us to leave with our good conscience. Thank you and forever.

21/07/2024: Très beau restaurant, plats soignés et innovants, personnel très compétent. Un bémol malgré tout - ne prenez pas l'accord mets-vin, la quantité servie est très faible (2 demi verres de vin et un jus de fruit). Contentez-vous de partager une bonne bouteille.

01/07/2024: Food and service were on point. Nice setting. Great presentation. However, a few faux pas ruined our experience there (we were a group of 16 spread out in four tables of four), and should not be permitted in an establishment seeking to maintain a Michelin status: 1) why would you want to bring a huge boule bread serving with a multi course dinner? It is unnecessary, filling, out of place and absurd. Guests are filling up on sourdough bread instead of savoring the delicate offerings. Most Michelin restaurants do not serve bread and if they do, it is refined and in small quantity, like a brioche. You lost my respect, attention and appétit when you dropped that kilo of dough on the table. Don’t! Guests left over fed, overwhelmed and uncomfortable. Who thought this was a good idea? 2) the wine pairing was very disappointing. Too small (1 to 2oz, should be 3 to 4oz), redundant (Pinot Noir was served twice as the only red wine option. Really?), the Tokaji was too dry and did not pair well with the dessert. It ruined it. Seems like nobody took the time to taste it and went for a cheaper option. 3) the air conditioning was not working. A huge part of the guest’s experience is to feel comfortable at the table. That was not possible that night. When brought up to the Maître D: " Tell me about it, we were hot too". Ok, but did you spend over $6000 while eating in a sauna? It is sad because there was a lot of effort by the kitchen to present creativity and excellence in presentation and taste, all of which were overshadowed and forgotten by simple but inexcusable mistakes. Your staff is young and dynamic, but the lack of experience is showing, and you would benefit greatly by bringing a more mature set of eyes into the mix.

17/09/2024: Didn’t really know what to expect when we arrived with our motorhome into this beautiful village. It was a Tuesday night and we have two dogs with us. We were warmly welcomed at le garage. Sat outside in the warm evening, and thoroughly enjoyed our burgers. The wine was very nice too. All in all a very good choice.

28/07/2024: One would not expect a burger type of place ran by swedish on the charente/dordogne border with an astonishing terrace view . Exactly what it is , nice service , honest made fresh wraps, burger or tacos . Our sons always want us to come here when in the area ..but adults will love it too

26/09/2024: This place is practically abandoned. No restaurant, empty pool, unkept gardens and terraces, uncleaned rooms, stained sheets.

26/01/2025: Mini stay in Angoulême with my 11 year old daughter welcomed like a princess! A huge thank you to Estelle for her warm, generous and caring welcome as well as to the team who went out of their way to make this stay a delight. Thanks also to the equally adorable and attentive restaurant team (Samih is a gem). In addition to this general kindness, the hotel has a library where you instantly feel at home. The pleasure of playing a vinyl chosen from the selection available, the possibility of borrowing a book and the impeccable service of a much appreciated coffee and hot chocolate upon our arrival. Until the end the feeling of being pampered. Thank you and looking forward to coming back ❤

26/01/2025: everything was super nice, and especially the welcome and kindness of the reception. You should say more about parking so that we can reach it when arriving without having to find parking nearby.
