20/04/2026: We had lunch on the terrace as a family of five. Superb, 100% homemade cuisine and a warm welcome. A restaurant that does justice to the craft and is well worth a visit!

20/04/2026: L'agape is a very small restaurant where you can eat very well for a very reasonable price. The owner manages everything himself, from waiting tables to preparing and serving the dishes. I advise you to make a reservation because they can't serve more than four tables for lunch.

21/02/2026: Warm welcome, relaxed nd well very presented with a hint of special occasion. Convenient, located just off the busier back lanes and worth a visit. Delicious food from simple no well presented menu. Greta wine choices, of course. Booked online. Simple online reservation, though the acknowledgment email needs to be much more rapid to be reassuring for those travelling. Hopefully this is an easy fix🤞

11/04/2026: The best crêperie in Angoulême. An incredible selection of savory and sweet crêpes. The savory crêpes are as good as those in Brittany. I highly recommend it.

In fact, I challenge any customer to find better value for money elsewhere: a set lunch menu for 18 euros, comprising an amuse-bouche, a starter, a main course, a dessert from the menu, and a drink. Moreover, the chef's homemade cuisine is truly delicious, and this set menu offers a choice of two starters and two main courses. And to top it all off, you'll be welcomed and served by Nadège, who will make your time at this establishment perfectly pleasant and enjoyable thanks to her kindness, competence, efficiency, and ever-present smile. Bravo and a huge thank you to you both. I give you 5 stars; you deserve them!

17/03/2026: Excellent value for money. At L’Art des Mets, you might almost think there’s been a mistake on the bill… but no: starter, main course, dessert, and a glass of wine for €18. At that price, you’d expect to have to do the dishes… And yet, they even slip in a little amuse-bouche! The kind of surprise that instantly puts you in a good mood. The staff is efficient and always smiling, perfect for busy but discerning food lovers. The dishes arrive beautifully presented, with that polished look that makes you want to whip out your phone… before devouring everything in two minutes. Honestly, it’s hard to find fault. Well, if we really have to be picky: the restaurant is a bit out of the way, and parking can be a bit of a local challenge. But after a good meal, it’s an excellent excuse for a leisurely stroll. In short: a generous, efficient restaurant that proves you can eat very well without breaking the bank—and that’s almost an art form. Please note, reservations are absolutely essential, otherwise there will be no table!! Another important point to note: the restaurant is only open for lunch during the week and on Friday and Saturday evenings.

30/03/2026: A quiet day with few customers and little atmosphere. The quality of the andouillettes and frozen fries was acceptable, but lacking that extra something. The crème brûlée, worthy of a gourmet café dessert, was nothing special. Really nothing to write home about, and the glass of wine (with the rib-eye steak) didn't improve the experience.

27/01/2026: We go there once a month, sometimes more, and it's always a real pleasure. The meat is excellent, the red wine is superb, and the charcuterie is simply incredible. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients; everything is fresh and flavorful. And on top of that, the chef is fantastic: welcoming, passionate, and it shows in the food. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food and quality ingredients!

12/04/2026: Rustic restaurant, lovely atmosphere with a fireplace. Thanks to the chef, excellent cuisine, the tomato tartare as a starter was very good and very fresh. The rib-eye steak and lamb chops were flavorful and tender, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The homemade fries were very good. The desserts were delicious. A great evening, thank you to the restaurant team.

17/01/2026: My current favorite little eatery. They serve a single dish but are never disappointed. Original dishes every time. A very warm welcome. And on top of that, very good prices.

07/03/2026: For our fifth visit, it was just as perfect as ever. The meat was delicious, and the vegetable gratin was as good as always. The service was quick, even for a table of six in a full restaurant. We will definitely be back!
