01/04/2026: Very hot outside and well air-conditioned inside. There were 4 of us, the tagine and couscous were extraordinarily tasty. Thank you Aicha for the warm welcome. Reasonably priced, highly recommended.

11/04/2026: Small restaurant with homemade cuisine. Approximately 27 seats maximum => Reservations required. Refined and original cuisine without being experimental. A very good place to eat.

29/03/2026: The best restaurant downtown. A sure bet. A restaurant that deserves a Michelin star. Sometimes, in the tiny dining room, we could smell cigarette smoke, probably because there's a draft from the back kitchen or the street. It's a shame, but otherwise, it's fantastic! I highly recommend it. Excellent value for money. A varied menu. It was delicious!

10/04/2026: The restaurant's location is excellent, next to the magnificent Bourges Cathedral. The restaurant has a rear area converted from an old medieval structure with original wooden features. Very charming and good food.

22/04/2026: Excellent experience! A small restaurant on a side street that doesn't look like much at first glance, but in the end, you feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is simple but incredibly effective, especially if you love Breton galettes and crêpes. The setting reminds me of the crêperies you find in Finistère, near the sea. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back on our next visit. "Aperitifs are life!"

08/03/2026: So. If you like Faulty Towers go here! Basic French dishes but lacking finesse and good preparation. So ….anyway I ordered black pudding and mashed potatoes. And that’s what I got! A single black pudding plonked on a pile of mash. No sauce, no vegetables or side dishes. When we politely asked for some vegetables we were told they are on the salad! He then gave a me a huge salad! It was hilarious. My wife ordered a ‘salmon croque’ which came out of the kitchen as salmon in between sliced white bread coated in cheese and baked. It was a bit basic lacklustre and arrived with a huge side of salad leaf. Owner of restaurant was more interested in drinking lots at bar with his mates rather than checking service. So overall a disappointing but hilarious show. We did check Google reviews and they appeared good? We paid €70 overall and I guess some life experiences are priceless!

04/03/2026: We had dinner with friends tonight in a warm and intimate setting. The welcome was more than perfect, and the atmosphere was simply divine! The staff is absolutely lovely, always ready with a joke, endlessly entertaining, and a beautiful musical selection that gently complements the meal. I highly recommend this place! The home-style cooking is delicious and prepared with care. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

14/02/2026: Excellent restaurant. Very rustic, just the way we like it. The service is perfect and the wait time is ideal. It's not our first time here and we've never been disappointed. Furthermore, the waitresses are incredibly kind and the welcome is so warm. We will come back again and again and we recommend it 10,000%! 19/04/2026: A truly wonderful experience at Les Petits Plats du Bourbon. The setting is magnificent, the atmosphere refined and elegant. The cuisine is of excellent quality, with sophisticated and perfectly executed dishes. A restaurant to recommend without hesitation in Bourges!

15/04/2026: A good restaurant in a pleasant and unique setting (a former abbey). Good value for money, around €40 per person, including wine and aperitif. The dishes are well prepared, the portions aren't very large, but they're sufficient. The service is efficient.

09/03/2026: Nice place and welcoming staff. The atmosphere is rather calm for a Friday evening. The dishes are good but not always live up to the menu. For example, the violet crème brûlée was practically tasteless. I regret not having tried the sweetbreads; I'll have to try them next time. This visit, however, was disappointing compared to my first time there.

22/04/2026: I'm posting a review after a second visit. I'm truly disappointed that this place wasn't more appealing. On paper, it's promising: the burger looks nice, the fries are homemade, but the portion size is a bit small. Even though they emphasize quality ingredients, it lacks flavor and seasoning. On the plus side, it's open even on Sundays.
