29/08/2026: Staying in Bourges for an overnight stop on our way south for a 2 week holiday. We had a long day travelling and looking for a nice French meal. Discovered this restaurant via a recommendation from another establishment which was booked up. Food and service here at Oliver’s was brilliant, we had the Terrine with fresh bread and Entrecôte for mains, accompanied with epic frites which they seem to be very proud of and so they should. Fantastique.
29/08/2026: Besides being very kind, the food was excellent! The tartare was very tasty and the entrecote was very tender.
Recommended!

Thank you to the waitress who provided excellent service.
09/08/2026: We were a family of five, including a 14-year-old.
Three of us ordered the steak tartare.
We were disappointed when our plates arrived: the fries weren't homemade, there was a little salad, and it looked like cat food! It was pureed, with no visible ingredients like egg, onions, or capers!
We were very disappointed.
In short, it needs improvement because the presentation was not great, even disappointing.
Furthermore, the menu isn't at all geared towards teenagers, for example, the burgers.

02/09/2026: Superb location. Small but excellent team, except for the president who is never on time for appointments and only gives notice at the last minute, without any regard for the distance the students travel... It's a shame... he needs to be replaced as soon as possible! QED

18/05/2026: Insufficient cooking time. Hygiene definitely needs improvement because food poisoning is a real possibility. What a shame.
11/05/2026: Passing through Bourges on a Thursday evening, we happened to have dinner at this restaurant. The steak tartare was excellent, well-seasoned, and the ribeye steak was perfectly aged. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the music playlist was great. We highly recommend it.

14/09/2026: We were very disappointed with our experience yesterday. The waffles were served still frozen, and when we went to pay at the counter, the person was very unpleasant, didn't respond to our greeting, and had a haughty tone.
I don't know if this gentleman is the owner or a waiter, but it was the first time I'd ever seen him. I've always enjoyed coming to this brasserie, but now I won't be going back. What a shame.
11/09/2026: Very good. Lovely interior overlooking the lake. Very reasonable prices, I loved my salmon steak. And the manager was very kind, thank you. Accessible on foot in less than 10 minutes, via a pedestrian path, from the Hotel Inn.

13/08/2026: The manager was incredibly unpleasant.
Yesterday afternoon, I went for a bike ride in Bourges (I know, not recommended in this heat).
I ran out of water in my water bottle and stopped at the central bar to ask for some. That's when the owner suddenly refused me outright because I wasn't buying anything; the bar was empty!
I don't think this person does any sport, and I hope she never finds herself in the same situation I experienced yesterday.
It's true that times are tough for businesses, but to refuse 500ml of water?
I hope this person sees this message.
In conclusion, I certainly wouldn't recommend this establishment where the owners have absolutely no respect for the public.

15/06/2026: We had the pleasure of celebrating our baptism in this magnificent venue, which is no longer a restaurant but a space dedicated to private events. It's the perfect setting to share wonderful moments with family and friends. We fell in love with this place. It's practical, with accessible restrooms, a private back courtyard shaded all day long, and several small indoor spaces ideal for preparing your events. There's also a fully equipped restaurant kitchen for caterers, complete with a cold room, oven, dishwasher, etc.
Thank you to Anne for her availability and kindness, which ensured everything was perfect 🙏
Thank you to the caterer, Le Meraki (rue Édouard-Vaillant), for the quality of their services and excellent support, which contributed to the success of our day ✨. Alexandros, the chef, prepared delicious Greek dishes for us to share, perfectly in keeping with the spirit of this incredible venue.
