Warm and efficient staff. Traditional cuisine, hearty and tasty daily specials. A place of life and conviviality.
To try it is to adopt it. In Chartres, the sun is not always in the sky, but you can always find it behind the counter of the Brasserie de l'Ouest.

17/07/2024: To flee!! It's not what it used to be. No cocktails, no Llight coke or oasis... the manager wanted to serve us on a dirty table and when my husband politely asked him to clean it he got angry. We won't come back!!
12/07/2024: A typical French tabac restaurant nice table outside but it was raining so inside! The room was dark and miserable. Good coffee but poor choice of food.
Main problem was the terrible toilets

03/07/2024: Restaurant that doesn't tempt you at all. Fortunately the server is very friendly and smiling. In terms of choice, it's not great either, a lot of things missing on the menu and no salad offered.
It's too bad.

Dépôt d une pizza sur la table et la serveuse vient la retirer car ce n était pas destiné à notre table.
Pas professionnel
Heureusement que ce n était mauvais mais loin d être excellent
C est une catastrophe !

25/08/2024: The service is deplorable. The manager is not friendly and does not listen to orders. Lots of unnecessary back and forth. Head pointing downwards at all times. The definition of nonchalance in fact.
She takes orders and forgets to ask for appetizers.
When the aperitifs arrived, the whole tray was spilled on me. No apology from him.
I was told about a nightmare in the kitchen and I didn't dare look at the reviews because I was a guest, but when I left the restaurant I immediately watched the replay to understand that nothing had changed.
Thank you for the strawberry pana cota which ultimately will be apricot with popcorn but after asking him “well it will be apricot”. The fries are actually potatoes.
That said, it wasn't that bad, except the desserts which weren't really good (cook on vacation so that can be explained).
Thank you for the gesture with the aperitifs offered at the time of payment even if my partner has a stained jacket and I spent my meal being soaked.
Unfortunately with a manager like that, it could only be a failure with Estebech.
Sorry for the staff around him but you have to experience it to believe it…
11/08/2024: I am not judging the rooms or the location of the establishment, that is not the point since we went to the restaurant. The dishes are just as good as in a well-run brasserie, served generously but nothing transcendent either. The owner who served us was friendly even if she regretted at the time of the bill that we had not consumed anything, certainly but the era of meals with: aperitif, bottle of wine, digestive and coffee date from another era. This establishment must be considered as a brasserie and not as the restaurant that it may have been in another era. Good experience.

21/08/2024: I advise against it, the waitress asks to wait a little and after 10 minutes comes to announce that it is full. I would like to point out that there are still free tables and that it is 12:45 p.m.
Motivation and the desire to work are strong!!!

16/04/2024: In Fuir, we wonder if we are not in the 70s!!! Everything is old and the cleanliness is dated too.
12/04/2024: I would not recommend anyone stay here, even if it is the last option. For a twin room we payed €75 which is more expensive than both the brit hotel, and the ibis budget. The breakfast at €7 per head consisted of some small peices of torn up baguette and 2 pain au chocolate that had clearly come out of a packet. The hotel room its self was slightly dirty, the window shutters wouldn't open on one window as they were broken, the other window was blocked from opening by a desk, the sheets look slightly stained, the toilet had no seat, the radiator wasn't attached to the wall, and to top it all off there was an infestation of black mould all over the ceiling of the bathroom. The morning staff was completely dismissive of any complaints and the whole place stank of cigarettes!
Please don't stay here.

24/08/2024: The owner seemed so nice and fragile that I played the hypocrite and told her everything was fine. But she has no culinary training. For 45 minutes I had compassion for Etchebest when he showed up in this type of restaurant. The only company I had was numerous midges. Hygiene-wise it's not as catastrophic as you might think from reading the comments, but it's so old and damp. The kitchen was almost tidy. In terms of cooking, these are products from the Simply brand. As indicated, the eggs are fresh, we can check the date, the box of 20 is on the counter. Savory crepe, the smoked ham and the egg cooked too long in the crepe but it was still decent. People ask me if I want salad because it is only on demand because the customers don't eat it. Obviously, it’s ocean lettuce without vinaigrette! You might expect a bit of mixed greens with a walnut oil vinaigrette. Caramel crepe with salted butter. It is a caramel for decoration which hardens in 2 minutes. Fortunately I understood and cut my crepe straight away into small pieces. She asks me if it wasn't too hard because she usually uses liquid cream but now it's out of stock! Like, there isn't a supermarket around where she can buy a small pot of liquid cream. In short, when you don't have the skills, even with a smile, it can't work.

Upon entering the establishment, a suspicious smell reminiscent of a henhouse
Once seated we were told that we were missing quite a few ingredients on the menu.
Looking to the left then to the right we quickly realize the questionable hygiene which makes us want to flee, but being respectful, we decide to stay there! 😥
Coke at 3.80 in a can!, the bowl of cider served in a classic glass
When adding the bill I approached the kitchen and shed a tear inside myself (no, you didn't eat that), the billig was never pickled, the pancake dough with its container more than doubtful as for its freshness, open jars everywhere, the toilets with kerosene stove not washed for too long, sink the same
I was not planning to post a comment, but in view of the precedents which show the questionable hygiene I see that NOTHING has been done, despite a response from the owner saying that he would do the necessary following the remarks
We felt the owner was annoyed at serving such questionable dishes, but despite the comments she didn't seem to have THE trigger.
PULL YOURSELF UP or SHUT UP, please!

For 15€ of frozen pizzas we consider it a steal.
We are very disappointed with this experience in this restaurant to avoid....
12/11/2024: Open Monday holiday.
Good time but because we were among friends because we weren't very welcome.
The crepe is bought for 3€ for 4 at Auchan, I don't see any other possibilities.
The waffle, however, was acceptable.
The crème brulée is doughy. Maybe we should rename it to brulee pastry?
The classic white lady.
It does the trick when leaving the museum but once a year max.
