21/06/2026: A wonderful discovery at L'Estocade. The setting, on the banks of the Eure River, is particularly idyllic and pleasant, ideal for enjoying a peaceful moment. The staff is welcoming, smiling, and very attentive, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. One small point to note: contrary to what I had gathered from my online research, there is no set menu. Starters, main courses, and desserts are all à la carte and charged separately. As for the food, the dishes served were very good and well-prepared. The only slight drawback was that the side dishes could have been a little more generous. On the other hand, the desserts were delicious and particularly substantial, an excellent way to end the meal. Overall, a very good restaurant in an enchanting setting, with quality cuisine and very pleasant service, despite the lack of a set menu and the somewhat small portions of side dishes.

19/06/2026: A very warm welcome with a smile. A wide selection of Chartres wines and the chef's suggestions were very interesting. Fresh produce from local producers. The amber beer from the Eurelienne brewery was excellent, and the lychee and grapefruit lemonade from the area was also delicious. From aperitif to dessert, everything was perfect. The meat was cooked to perfection. The fish (swordfish) was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The service was very good, but I ordered a crêpe with the following ingredients: Andouille sausage, potato, and Roquefort cheese. The crêpe was very dry (was it one from lunchtime that had already been cooked?) and I'm still looking for the Roquefort. I'm very disappointed with this experience: what happened? I don't think I'll be returning to this restaurant, much to my regret, because up until now it had been really good. What a shame...

26/02/2026: An excellent, little-known gem in Chartres. People often stop at other, more prominent establishments, while this restaurant is a true culinary treasure. A very warm welcome with a smile. The vaulted cellar, where entertaining performances sometimes take place, is definitely worth seeing. 👍 Highly recommended

11/02/2026: A disaster after a very positive first experience... Over an hour's wait for an aperitif and a main course! The waiter was friendly and courteous, but she was alone serving, which didn't help matters! Several dishes and desserts were out of stock... It would be nice if they had announced this beforehand and told the customers! We came from Orléans and left angry with a hefty bill and no compensation whatsoever! There are some fundamental issues that need addressing! We were therefore forced to have dessert elsewhere, at a nearby establishment... In short, this will be the last time we go to this place, which is a shame because we had a good time last June! PS: No regrets, considering the response and the lack of self-reflection!

29/06/2026: Right next to the cathedral is this very welcoming bistro. We chose it partly because of the staff's attire, and it turned out to be a great choice! The salads with chicken cutlets (fresh!) and the burgers are both excellent. The apple tarte taténe is excellent 🤩 Fast service, very kind staff. In short... if you're passing through, it's worth a stop!
