17/09/2026: We treated ourselves to a thoroughly enjoyable evening in this small restaurant! Every course was an experience.

27/09/2026: The dish was good, but it's nowhere near the standard of a restaurant that requires a €300 credit card imprint and calls us three times to confirm our reservation. For dessert, I ordered a flan supposedly flavored with Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean. In the end, I received something like a very dense, pre-packaged flan mix from a supermarket, with neither tonka bean nor Madagascar vanilla. (At €10 for the flan, I expected a minimum level of quality...) And as for the service... 20 minutes to get the menu, an hour for the main course, another hour for dessert, and 15 minutes to finally pay; at least we'll remember that! 😅

27/09/2026: A terrible experience that felt like a bad joke, nothing like the reviews. Perhaps an epidemic has affected all the owners? The restaurant tries to create a level of prestige it doesn't have: credit card authorization, calls the day before and the morning of our reservation to confirm our booking—we were expecting a unique experience! The restaurant only has a very limited menu (4?), so it took us 20 minutes to get a menu to share between 8 people... Taking our order was a bit chaotic after 4 rounds of review! At least there was no risk of mistakes; (the first 3 were wrong). We were finally served 1 hour and 15 minutes after our arrival! (Well behind several customers who arrived after us). As for the drinks, they were quite good; the wine and fruit liqueur combinations were varied and original. The head waiter, very professional, changed one of our glasses when a fly got into it. Unfortunately, the new glass arrived with a tiny gnat inside... The side dish was nothing special: simple mashed potatoes with a small piece of broccoli and a nice slice of celery (which hadn't been mentioned when the waiter presented the side dish). As for the duck, it was good, cooked to perfection, and the accompanying sauce had flavor. For dessert, we waited another 45 minutes. The flan was very heavy, chalky, and bland. The financier and ganache were quite good, but the pear was almost completely absent from the dish. The three small slices of cheese, like the rest of the meal, were served without bread... We had to ask for it. Not to mention the semolina pudding with roasted fig... Presented with a fig jam coulis instead of the expected roasted fig, on top of a dense semolina pudding. Continuing the experience, we waited 15 minutes before we could pay. That's when we discovered the highlight of the show: my wife had ordered a Diet Coke, served in a pretty glass with two small lemon slices, and these unasked lemon slices were charged as an extra... 19/09/2026: A very good meal from the amuse-bouche to the coffee. Everything was refined, visually appealing, and perfectly balanced. Having informed us that there were vegetarians in our party, several starters were made available, and the chef prepared a special dish not listed on the menu. In short, I highly recommend it for the very pleasant staff, the simple yet elegant setting, and especially for the superbly executed cuisine.

28/09/2026: Everything is perfect and very good.

28/09/2026: We held our daughter's christening at L'Amphitryon. The meal was a hit with all our guests, the service was impeccable, the menu was adapted for the pregnant women present, and the children's menu was also a success. We were also able to have a tiered cake delivered from a bakery in Chartres without any problems. I highly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to hold future family events there.

19/09/2026: While cycling through Chartres, we stopped at La Picoterie. The welcome was warm and attentive, the portions were generous, and the service was quick. One of us eats gluten-free, and the staff perfectly accommodated her dietary needs.

16/09/2026: Excellent value for money. The galette of the day (potato, melted cheese, ham, and salad) was delicious. Pleasant and welcoming servers. I recommend it.

21/07/2026: I recommend this all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant. There's a really wide selection, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable. A single person could have a cocktail, and the buffet was €28. I recommend it on weekday evenings. Go for it! Aurélie

19/07/2026: Hello. I recommend the meat dishes and the €26 per person set menu, which includes unlimited starters, main course, dessert, plus two bottles of sparkling water and a non-alcoholic cocktail; it's quite affordable. Parking is limited, or you can park in the side lane.

11/02/2026: A disaster after a very positive first experience... Over an hour's wait for an aperitif and a main course! The waiter was friendly and courteous, but she was alone serving, which didn't help matters! Several dishes and desserts were out of stock... It would be nice if they had announced this beforehand and told the customers! We came from Orléans and left angry with a hefty bill and no compensation whatsoever! There are some fundamental issues that need addressing! We were therefore forced to have dessert elsewhere, at a nearby establishment... In short, this will be the last time we go to this place, which is a shame because we had a good time last June! PS: No regrets, considering the response and the lack of self-reflection!
