14/10/2023: The establishment is open contrary to what is written. Good reception, but very expensive compared to the quantity and quality. The taste of the cuisine is drowned in the sauces. Beautiful presentation of the dishes but standard quality. We find better and cheaper.

22/11/2024: One of the best places I visited in Bordeaux! A very friendly staff that created a warm and welcoming atmospheres! The owner recommended one of their seasonal specials, Blanquetté, which was perfect for the chilly November weather. I also got their homemade chocolate mousse, which was the perfect balance between rich and light! Would definitely recommend coming here!

11/03/2026: The food was absolutely terrible, the place was extremely unhygienic, and it was only suitable for drinking alcohol. The plates they brought were dirty, the glasses were stained, and after some people left, they left some of the cutlery untouched for the next people to arrive. They wiped all the tables with a dirty rag. The food that came was spoiled. Only the baked Camembert was good.

21/03/2026: I expected better… warm welcome, pleasant atmosphere, quick service. We had a discount with TheFork, thankfully. Generous portions. Wide selection, but nothing exceptional. And the desserts were very basic and disappointing. It's a shame we ended up with a bad rating. So, we went, but we won't be back.
02/03/2026: Good food, good service, but prices are quite high for the quality. We were able to get 50% off the menu with a TheFork offer.

09/03/2026: We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, and there was hardly anyone on the terrace. We only came to order drinks, but the wait on the terrace for someone to take our order was unbearable, so I went straight to the bar thinking it would be more convenient for them. As a result, I got a comment from the waitress: "Oh, but I was at your table taking your order!" Anyway 😂 I then asked her what flavors of tea they had, and she seemed overwhelmed, even annoyed that I was asking, as if I were wasting her time. The service was clearly overwhelmed (only four tables on the terrace). And the tea was served directly in a gigantic cup with hot water in it? Is this some kind of hidden camera prank? 😂 accompanied by a dirty spoon 👌 At the end, I wanted to go to the restroom, but seeing that other customers were already paying with the same waitress, I waited before asking her where the restroom was. Without even looking at me or the other customers, she just said "restroom" with a dismissive wave of her hand, as if to say, "Get out of here." In short, a bad experience. There are plenty of nice bars around here; don't go to this one if you want pleasant service ;)
08/02/2026: Fantastic meal with our two children! Friendly welcome. Excellent wine selection. The dishes are simple but delicious and generously portioned. We'll definitely be back to try their original cocktails. Special mention for the background music – very high quality! Thank you for a lovely time!

15/03/2026: We received a very warm welcome from Fadhela and her colleagues. We arrived as a family with a baby and a chihuahua, and they seated us with a baby table and even warmed up the baby food for us. We had a lovely time, and everything was delicious, especially the canelés for dessert. Thank you again for your hospitality; we will gladly return! 🙂

20/06/2025: Hello, I came on Sunday afternoon, June 15th, to buy two gifts at the store at 34 rue St. James. I'm writing to you because I'm very skeptical... and very jaded... When I went through the checkout, I clearly stated that I needed two gift packages for two birthdays. They showed me a nice pink and white package, which I paid for, but they had already charged me. Then, oh no, finally, if it's for two different little girls, Okay, let's separate the gifts. The first, a kind of transparent white envelope... the saleswoman apologizes, okay. The second is a mug in a square package. She takes out a brown envelope, puts the package inside—which is too big for the envelope—cuts off the top, and puts a sticker inside. I'm perplexed... I honestly allow myself to say to her: "Well, it's average, it's for a little girl's birthday, it doesn't look very birthday-like and the package...is a bit ugly, you know"...(without malice, with a little smile, tilting her head a little to the side and inviting her to think, that kind of attitude) At that, she, very offended, tells me that I'm mean, that it's not nice at all of me...that she's going to the extra trouble to make me this package and that she doesn't have to do it... (No kidding??? Should I have gone into raptures???) And insisting several times, without listening to me, that I don't want to give it like that, nor in front of other mothers. At one point, I got annoyed when the young lady retorted that, and I quote: "Generally, people come to us, buy a gift, then go to h**a to buy some gifts and make their own." At that point, her colleague arrived and took over, which I thought was great. But she decided to side with her without listening to me either. Tired, I asked for a refund. In the end, they gave me the lovely gift I'd originally given. I left with my children, with a very annoyed "Have a nice Sunday," which says it all... plus comments behind my back as I left... Very unpleasant. Frankly, I was furious. My message to the manager, and perhaps to these two people who didn't understand where they worked. It's a suggestion... You can do what you want with it: When you're a store like yours, with the name you want to forge, a strong and recognizable identity, based on sharp and stylish choices: YES, people expect to receive a gift package from your store, and in the image of your store. The mindset of your customers who take the trouble to come to your store, on a side street off the main roads, is this: I didn't buy a gift in a hurry somewhere else between two errands while buying milk and laundry detergent. I took the time for these little girls, to go to the right place, to look for gifts for them, personalized, with a beautiful package that I'll be happy to give them. Through this gift, we show that we didn't go to any ordinary store. And we pay a little more than elsewhere for that. Also: That we go to a local store, not a chain store. But above all, when we pay a premium price for an item that's "above the price" at your store, YES we expect to be listened to and well received with a well-packaged item. As for the young lady, it would be good to avoid the comments and go to the competitor's store if I'm there...and to be honest with myself. I came to your store to be received with care. There you go, I really wanted to explain to you the impact of such a sale. I took the time to write you this message. I'm giving it one star for this mishap. The store itself is worth 5 stars. But despite everything, after this experience, it gives: -message received 5 out of 5 - Upcoming birthday gifts: Go to Chez h**a, they have gift wrapping, 10 birthdays per year for 2 children - Best regards, And Happy Thursday.

15/11/2025: Great view of Bordeaux and a great time thanks to Paul and Dan who were super nice and accommodating in finding us a place.
10/11/2025: This restaurant is located right in front of the Bordeaux Opera. There are seats with umbrellas, but it's cold at this time of year so we stayed indoors. The octopus and sea bass dishes were impressive and delicious. The egg dish with ceps sauce and the smoked salmon were also very tasty.

18/02/2025: Very good restaurant, refined cuisine, impeccable service, and excellent value for money. We came twice in the evening for the 5-course menu, with wine pairing. We had a blast! We also came for lunch, and it was perfect. They adapted the dishes for one of our guests who is lactose intolerant. We highly recommend this place!

24/02/2026: The appetizers and main courses are delicious; the restaurant lives up to its name. It was our first time there. The quality of the flavors is excellent; the vegetables are lightly smoked or marinated depending on the dish you choose. The accompanying sauce is well-balanced. I highly recommend the pork spring rolls and the beef fillet that I had tonight. The desserts, however, are a bit more traditional.

06/03/2026: Eating lunch at a two-Michelin-starred restaurant for under €30 for a starter and main course is still hard to believe, and yet Gabriel offers it. Everything is perfect: the originality, the textures, the cooking, the flavorful sauces that accompany each dish. Gourmet food at a low price, and at that price I even had sweetbreads! You'd have to be crazy not to go!
19/02/2026: Gabriel will always hold an unforgettable memory for me. I celebrated my 35th birthday there in June, with my sweetheart, and everything was absolutely perfect. We dined outside, overlooking the magnificent Place de la Bourse: the setting was sublime, the atmosphere soft and romantic. The welcome, the service, the attentiveness, and the cuisine… everything was just right, elegant, and thoughtful. A beautiful and precious moment that I will never forget. Thank you for this perfect interlude ✨
