31/08/2026: The best cafe with extremely tasty coffee. The atmosphere is unmatched, music is excellent and I enjoyed every second I spent in this bar. I can't possibly describe how wonderful and kind the staff is. We visited this cafe every day of our stay in Bordeaux and met both the owner and waiter who also works here. Both were incredible; a joyful waiter gave us many recommendations which were truly worth a visit, shared some wonderful music recommendations with us and was overall so extremely welcoming and kind, such a great man. The owner was also the kindest and most welcoming man, who even played a chess game with us (and won, he is really good!). We were truly sad we had to leave and would come back to Bordeaux (all the way from Slovenia) just to experience a morning coffee in this outstanding bar again. Thank you so much for this experience, hands down best bar in the world.

19/08/2026: I was expecting less based on its Google Maps rating, but I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent value for money. The waiter was very friendly.

14/08/2026: The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food needs improvement. Warm goat cheese salad: bagged salad with 4 croutons and a slice of goat cheese log. Beef carpaccio: vacuum-sealed tray from Charal or Bigard, with no seasoning. Not recommended.

24/09/2026: My wife and I stopped here for a coffee and chai while visiting the center of Bordeaux. The latte was the perfect size for me, and the chai was quite good. We also ordered a croissant, which was tasty. The staff was polite and quick. The place has a lovely atmosphere and is quite relaxing with the background music. I recommend it if you want to stop for coffee in the city center. Reasonable value for money.

09/09/2026: This restaurant is simply AMAZING! Located on a street corner with a lovely view of Saint Andrew's Cathedral, this spot offers the perfect opportunity for contemplation and observing the hustle and bustle of Bordeaux. The food was a real treat! The calamari was so good it made my sister blush, cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable and incredibly kind. The owner is a huge fan of The Cure and has a vast musical knowledge. It's a place where Paul Auster would have loved to enjoy a coffee on the terrace. Thank you and congratulations to the whole team!

01/07/2026: There is actually an English menu, but the staff doesn't know it; just ask them to flip the board over. Initially, you don't need a reservation, but it's best to make one if you have a large group. A carnivore's paradise, offering a variety of meat dishes at affordable prices and in generous portions.

29/06/2026: A restaurant for meat lovers like they used to make. Old-fashioned atmosphere, cuts of meat that are hard to find elsewhere, and a wide selection. Quick service and a very pleasant waiter. Purely for the pleasure of your stomach.

28/07/2026: A very pleasant place. Welcoming and genuinely impartial, the staff take the time to get to know you, at least a little. A diverse selection of drinks, primarily wine, and platters featuring high-quality products. The possibility of expanding your wine cellar with expert advice. A relaxed yet refined atmosphere, where you feel valued. A big thank you. In my humble opinion, it's rare to find a place in Bordeaux that combines these aspects, not just a purely commercial one.

15/05/2026: A fantastic evening! Incredibly high-quality wines, a very kind and helpful bartender, and the owner was simply fabulous—generous, sociable, and accommodating. We had a wonderful and enjoyable evening, and I highly recommend this excellent bar.

20/07/2026: We stopped by for lunch today. Great service! We enjoyed the mussels with chorizo, which barely left us room for dessert, as the portions were generous. A big plus for the fresh fries! A fantastic place, we'll definitely be back.

26/07/2026: A regular customer, visiting every two months. The food is simple but good, but we would appreciate it if they could tell us that the chicken pasta has been replaced with turkey. This won't stop us from going back to eat there again soon.

11/09/2026: Got here just before the midday rush which was lucky. Probably one of the better steaks l have had while in France and the accompanying sauce was very tasty. Wife had the chicken which was also good. Great place to have lunch and watch the world go by. Nice house labelled wine.

09/09/2026: I went with a friend who wanted to go to Bistro Régent. Having been there a few years earlier, I had relatively fond memories. But my experience this time was completely different. First of all, the menu has changed. There's still only one vegetarian dish on the menu (which is astounding for a chain like this, considering how many vegetarians there are these days). A few years ago, it was tabbouleh. Now, it's a goat cheese burger, which was very problematic for me, as I'm vegetarian but don't eat goat cheese. So I ended up having to ask for the goat cheese to be removed. No alternative was offered, and the waiter even made fun of me while I was ordering and then brought me my burger bun, which was practically empty. The service was deplorable: beyond the waiter's mockery, it was incredibly slow. It took ages to get seated; we were shuffled from one entrance to another of Bistro Régent before they finally found us a table. When I asked for more fries—supposedly all-you-can-eat—they never arrived. The salad was terribly bad and smelled like wet socks. And the bill was far too high for what we were served... In short, a place to absolutely avoid.

20/09/2026: Greasy food. Despite the price, there's more potato than anything else. The meat is swimming in oil and the sauce is simply nonexistent. 45 minutes to 1 hour in line to get in, if you're a couple you'll probably get in faster. Service is good and super fast once inside. Overall, it's not worth the price for the quality, I recommend looking for other restaurants like Melodie and Bouillon.

19/09/2026: Overly internet influenced not worth the hype and certainly not worth the wait. Fortunately it’s a big restaurant and we arrived 15 minutes before they opened and we got in for the first seating. Packed with tourists and families with screaming children (this is rare in France) hence the low rating on atmosphere. They only do one thing and that’s “le entrecôte” it’s a good portion (6oz?) for two; a very tender cut of sirloin served with a heaping pile of delicious frites and the famous sauce. Tasty as it might be, with butter hints of shallots, tarragon and perhaps chicken livers puréed, but it’s separated. I assume that’s what’s novel about it. It’s great to soak up the solids with the excellent bread and the buttery bits with fries and maybe that’s the allure, but not worth standing in a queue for. Nicely dressed salad with walnuts and a light vinaigrette (walnut oil?), and reasonably priced house red. The profiteroles with ice cream and chocolate sauce are a decadent sinful finish to a good meal. Price was very reasonable and a great value again maybe another part of the appeal. Our busy waitress was lovely funny and attentive. Scaling the stairs running food with as much ease as changing languages. She made our night as did the mother and daughter sitting next to us pulling faces at the screaming children at the next table. We will tick the box for the frantic experience, never again.

18/08/2026: Delicious platters, excellent wine, and a fantastic tasting system. We highly recommend it! A small suggestion: it might be a good idea to include labels with some basic information about the wines.

10/09/2026: Appalling service!!! The so-called "owner" gestures towards the tables, all while slouching either on the counter or leaning against the wall or whatever is within reach!!! You'd think he was tired when all he does with his life is waste the time.... Orders were taken rudely and rushed. The beef tartare looked like vomit after a heavy drinking session!!! At the checkout, not a thank you, not a nice day.... ZERO POINTS The "Bistrot Regéant" franchise should take a closer look at this establishment.

10/09/2026: Since I can't give zero stars, my review will do the rest: avoid this restaurant at all costs because the service is appalling (the "owner" is completely unhelpful, just pacing back and forth in the restaurant without doing anything in particular; he took our order without a smile or a thank you, it was almost like we were bothering him more than anything else; he was there just to hold up the walls, leaning on everything he saw!!). The beef tartare was anything but tartare (it sat like a bone in the stomach), with an unpleasant texture because it was very acidic and practically blended (even a nursing home wouldn't serve that). At the checkout, not even a smile, a thank you, or a nice day!!! Having been to Bistro Regent restaurants before, this one is in a league of its own!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
