11/12/2025: We arrived after 9 pm following a show at the cathedral. We were greeted with a smile, were able to eat despite the late hour, and had a generous meal for a reasonable price: two Savoyard veal escalopes, two Pessac-Léognan wines, and two coffees for under €50. We'll definitely keep your address in mind for our next trip to Bordeaux.

29/11/2025: Avoid at all costs! Disgusting frozen food, appalling service.

30/11/2025: A very bad customer experience. This is the second time. We thought we'd give this place a second chance, but in the end… first impressions are often right. Avoid it. There's a more accessible and much more welcoming tea room further down the street. It's cheaper, and just as good, if not better.

09/11/2025: Very disappointing!!! The hot chocolate was too sweet and the service very cold and austere… we felt like we were bothering the waiters… plus they didn't even tell us about the ingredients (for the milk…) which we only discovered at the till when paying the bill…

19/01/2026: A bit disappointed, considering the restaurant's prime location in the heart of the Place de la Comédie. The welcome was adequate but rather cold. The entrance was quite difficult due to the two steps, even though I use a walker. We were two friends and were very surprised by the set menu; everything arrived on the same plate (starter, main course, and dessert). It's the first time I've seen this type of menu. The food was tasty but cold, and the lack of care in the presentation suggested a chain restaurant or a problem with the servers. It was the middle of winter, rainy and cold. We would have appreciated hot dishes and a more refined presentation: a set menu or à la carte options, like in restaurants. The prices need to be reviewed for the benefit of the customers. Perhaps we'll eat on the terrace when the weather is nicer.

29/09/2024: We ordered croquettes and a couple drinks. The service was great and the food was cooked well. We liked the sauce that was served with the croquettes. Le Riva had a good selection of beers and cocktails, although their selection of ciders was limited. Definitely recommend.

26/09/2024: Very unpleasant welcome from the (young) boss, she annoys everyone and the word is weak, it's a disaster TO FEE! And to think that I was a loyal customer!!! She doesn't like reservations of 8 people! dear consumers like me walk a little further and you have the Makila and the Trattoria (or the maritime café) with the same view of the Chaban bridge and much nicer teams

27/09/2024: Working for the CNFPT for 2 days, I made a reservation at the Bastide café for 5 people, specifying that we only had one hour for lunch. Besides the fact that the cuisine is very good and the daily menu (main course, dessert, coffee) at €15.70 is completely correct, the boss and his team have "gone out of their way" to make our lives easier despite a full house when a guest got lost, arrived late and was served straight away. Thank you to the whole team and see you soon without fail.

17/09/2024: Steak tartare frankly not good, dishes not copious (we are still hungry at the end of the meal), quite expensive for the little pleasure during the meal... An address that I do not recommend...

20/01/2026: My friend and I came to eat, and we immediately noticed that the glasses placed on our table were dirty, not only ours, but also those on the table to our right and left. I still think that hygiene is the most important thing in a restaurant and that it might be possible not to neglect this. Thank you anyway to the waitress who changed our glasses.

21/09/2024: Stopped for a drink in early afternoon. There was a notice telling people who wanted to sit outside, to see the bar for service. I did this, they said they would come out to take the order. Over ten mins later, someone came. The drink was overpriced and the service was indifferent. A shame, because it’s a good location.

17/09/2024: We got into Bordeaux late afternoon - starving. I’m happy I did not read the reviews before we dined here. They were pretty bad. Perhaps they have improved although the service was slow. It was the only place we found there were no smokers. The food was great. The nicoise was an ample portion of fresh crisp lettuce, the peppers were a nice touch. The tuna and white anchovy were fresh and tasty. Our friends ordered a cassoulet with mushrooms & chicken with magnificent sauce and a salad with a giant bowl of Brie and French fries. Not my type of dish but she totally enjoyed. The St Germaine spritzer was the best I’ve had this trip.

11/12/2025: Lunch in this very pleasant pub with its stylish and original musical decor. The dishes are simple and generous.

07/07/2025: Beware, trap! They deliberately place a Badoit at each table. Since we didn't order it, we naturally assumed it was free. We only drank half. What a surprise when, when it came time to pay, we were told we had to pay €6 for a bottle of sparkling water. It's shameful.

07/07/2025: Bland tartare for €19. A mushy, flavorless meat. I didn't know capers could be so bland. I tried my friends' sirloin steak. I'm not a butcher, but it seemed tough to chew and cut, and definitely underseasoned... Industrial salad and sauce from a sachet. On the other hand, the service was fast (the kitchen mustn't be putting too much thought into it, in my opinion). In short, really give it a miss; it's expensive and unpleasant if you like food. The fries were good and the restaurant was well decorated; it generally did the job of a McDonald's. (Sorry for the mid-meal photos, but it wasn't any more appetizing than when the actual dish arrived.)

17/09/2024: The waiter was very friendly, the place on the terrace, impeccable....however very disappointed with the menu of the day! Chistorra....2 sausages with 2 potatoes for main course + crumble for dessert for €19.90...heavy price for what's on the plate!
