Hotel Arbois-Bettex Restaurant

30/03/2026: The hotel is perfectly located at the foot of the slopes, with a friendly and very welcoming staff. The view of Mont Blanc from the breakfast room is magnificent. We had an excellent stay thanks to the team and the thoughtful touches in our room (pastries, water, toiletries, etc.). We will gladly return!
30/03/2026: Where to start? Is a great location the reason why everything else has to be so horrible?
Reception has a hard time speaking English so they just hang up on you when you are trying to get information. Twice. Once when we were trying to get a code for the parking.
You book an extra bed for your child and when you arrive it isn't ready. Then when it comes, it is broken and it takes hours to replace.
Breakfast is simply sad, really.
The room is old not in a good way. Carpeted with ancient smells..
THe flip flops for the sauna are reusable. Seems like hotel management is trying to save money on the smallest things.
The shower on the bathroom is awful. A small amount of water comes out of it.
For the price we paid, this is most likely the worst place we have ever stayed at.

03/09/2026: A magnificent setting and a fantastic team! The welcome is incredibly warm, which immediately puts you at ease. The fresh cheese is simply excellent, and the beer is just as delicious. It was a pure moment of relaxation with a breathtaking view. I highly recommend it!
22/08/2026: We were invited two days ago to a birthday party at a restaurant!
And honestly, it was fantastic!
There were about twenty of us, and we had a wonderful evening!
The meal was delicious: potato fritters with great local charcuterie, regional cheese, and to top it all off, a little accordion music on the cake!
The view is breathtaking!
Hiking down with headlamps is a superb experience!

11/10/2026: A must-visit! The waitress was lovely, the coffee was excellent, and the pastries were amazing.
I highly recommend it.
I would definitely go back.
10/10/2026: Plenty of vegetarian options in the savory section 👍, a wide selection of savory dishes, and gorgeous, delicious cakes. The bill was also quite hefty.

01/10/2026: I love this place! La Folie Douce always has an amazing atmosphere, a real escape from everyday life. We always have a fantastic time there, in an exceptional setting. A must-visit in Saint-Gervais!

07/03/2026: We came for lunch during a day of skiing. The positives: the food was very good and the location is great. However: it's very expensive and, above all, the service is very inconsistent and lacking in friendliness. There were four of us adults with an order that suggested a reasonable bill. Our only request was for the cheese to be served separately in the soup (an appetizer costing over €10). The soup arrived with the cheese already in it. Without a word. I called the waiter over to point it out, and he offered me a small bowl to remove it myself. A waitress brought it to us and, far from apologizing, said, "It's the chef's fault." No apology, and she was condescending when I tried to say that it wasn't what we had ordered. In short, we won't be back: there are much nicer people at much more affordable prices all over the resort!

From the service, the magnificent view to the execution of the dishes, everything was 10/10!!
A very pleasant experience that became a memory!

Extortionate (£50 for a burger?), and not justified by the quality.
Food was distinctly average, took some time to gets drinks, and the toilets were dirty/no paper. Nice views but you can find that somewhere with a bit of soul/quality.

05/03/2026: The pros: magical location, cleanliness, and the service, which has improved considerably this year.
The cons: the food: firstly, it's a self-service restaurant, and secondly, the food selection is basic, incomparable to most mountain restaurants in Megève—for example—yet the prices reflect those of mountain restaurants. That said, the food is quite well cooked, coffee aside.
Note a comment made today to an English-speaking customer: the manager is anti-Trump to the point of boycotting Coca-Cola. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even to the point of missing Khamenei, but it seems to me that in business, one should refrain from sharing it.

04/09/2024: Très bon Accueil par une jeune fille qui est une professionnelle avenante, prise de commande et plat dans la foulée un régal bonne cuisine un moment agréable bravo au cuisinier

Au menu : tartiflette, fondue, raclette…
L’endroit est agréable, le service sympathique.
Une bonne adresse, pour un repas simple et un service rapide.

06/03/2024: Had lunch there today and we were very disappointed. The salad with ‘wintergreens’ was just green salad with some cauliflower pieces, a bit of carrots and a slimy egg. The other dish was ‘croute/mushrooms/reblochon’ served on a piece of bread half burned; lots of onions and very little reblochon on top. Glass white housewine was not chilled. I mentioned the burned bread to the waiter. He did nothing about it and we had to pay 95!!! Euro’s for this meal. Never go back to this overrated place, although the style of the restaurant is really nice on a beautiful setting in the mountains.
17/02/2024: Very bad service, food and very average entertainment this year! It was apparent the waiters were more attentive to the people that they knew as opposed to other paying patrons of the restaurant. Had much better experiences in previous years.
